There were six of us who stayed at this property (husband, three grown sons, & one girlfriend), and it was perfect for our trip! First of all, if you are into architecture, you will love the details of this home. You feel like you are having the true San Francisco experience staying here. I am sure I could never afford to buy this home, so to be able to visit here for a few days was really special. Also, we loved the location. One and a half blocks over, there is a street that has a bunch of shops, cafes, and restaurants, and a half block off of that street is the original La Boulange! If you are not familiar with that, it is the bakery that now prepares all of Starbucks' pastries. I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I walked in there! Wow! Any plans of making breakfast at the flat flew out the window!
The owner, Victoria, is very nice. She checked in on us and the parking that you can rent from her is only 1.5 blocks away from the flat - so much easier than trying to figure out street parking!
While we were there, we visited the Pacific Cafe (which I found on Trip Advisor). It's a few miles from the flat and we drove there. It had amazing food, mainly seafood. There's always a line, but we told them we were trying to get to a show when they seated us, and they rushed our food out. I highly recommend! We also biked across the Golden Gate bridge, visited Muir Woods, and took the tour of Alcatraz. If you are going to do Alcatraz, make sure you get the tickets as soon as they are available (3 months out). I tried to get night-time tickets 7 weeks ahead and they were already gone!
So, to wrap it up, I highly recommend this property. When you walk in the door you smell how clean it is. It was a nice, cheery place, and very comfortable. I think it would also be a great place for three couples to visit together - much cheaper than three hotel rooms and you have a kitchen to use.
