Wonderful home overlooking the ocean

5 of 5
This house has a wonderful floor plan and great amenities. We visited in February but the weather was lovely and warm; we went to the beach almost every day for a week. Getting into San Francisco, tourist areas, etc. was super quick too. Maybe 15 minutes to downtown. The house has about 8 bedrooms if you count all the lofts and little rooms, like the loft above the master bedroom which is a charming little place, although it’s not closed off from the master bedroom. Master bathroom is very nice with the jacuzzi tub. There’s a rooftop deck which has great views of the peaceful woods area in back of the house. Overall the house is very clean and neat. The rate was excellent too, very economical for such a large and nice house, great bargain. Wonderful experience for the whole family. Would stay here again next time.

Perfect Place

My wife and I stayed at Villa Montara for 3 days recently and it was everything we expected and more. The home's interior has a unique artistic style that was both rustic and refined with spectacular views framed by the windows. The grounds were excellent with beautiful views from the home's cliff side perch. We enjoyed the music system in the house and the hot tub's setting at night with a clear sky and a glass of wine. We went to nearby Montara Beach and the water was cold but invigorating. Swimming here is not for the faint of heart; the surf break is strong and the beach steep, resulting in a strong undertow. But the beach is very scenic, surrounded by cliffs. Our daughter lives in the bay area and Villa Montara is close enough to make a very comfortable 35-40 min drive back and forth. Despite being near Highway 1, the feeling you have behind the walls of the grounds is one of solitude and serenity. We hope to return and I would recommend it to anyone.

Felt like a film star

A superb experience. We are property owners ourselves and have rented privately several times. This property is AMAZING. The pictures don't do it justice. Sandra, the owner is so generous, we couldn't believe how many "extras" there were and the high spec finishes throughout made it truly special. And then there are the views. And I mean views, not view. The villa has been designed and built to take advantage of both incredible views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge to the south and west, as well as delightful views over Tiburon harbour and north to Mount Tamalpais. This was definitely a place that was difficult to drag ourselves away from - even though the great ferry service to San Francisco was an short ride through the winding streets. Tiburon is a delightful little town too, with a nice selection of restaurants etc. Plan to spend a bit of time here. But plan to spend time at Via Golden Gate too - why leave when you have a truly luxurious and spectacular villa with those views? Can't recommend it highly enough. We'd love to return. Thanks for everything Sandra!
