Perfect secluded home for a large gathering

5 of 5
We had the most wonderful time celebrating a triple birthday party at Deer Crossing Inn. The sleeping space was perfect for a large group, the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, the weather was beautiful so we got to enjoy the pool even in October, the hot tub and fire pit were excellent evening hang outs and most importantly, we felt like we were off the beaten path even though we were nestled in the suburbs. It was also convenient for all the out-of-towners because we could take the BART to the Castro Valley station and then a cab from there in 10 minutes. Cindi was wonderful to work with. She was there when we needed her but not when we didn't and we truly felt like we could enjoy our privacy even though the innkeeper house is in fact pretty near the property (we were a bit worried when we showed up and saw that it was quite close, but it turned out to be no problem at all). We found the house because we wanted a large secluded place that could sleep more than 20 and everyone was so happy with what we got. Other than to pick up a couple supplies, we never even left the house. We took a chance on a completely random place in Dublin and it was exactly what we needed. I would highly recommend this property if you are a large group that wants to get away from the city and relax. And for the record, we all felt that the house was even nicer than it looks in the photos. One thing to note is that there is no cell service and while they do allow phone calls from the house phone, you should plan ahead for this. Many of our friends tried to get in touch with us before arriving and could not. Thanks Cindi! We'll be back next year.

I left my heart at La Casa Verde

5 of 5
I left my heart in San Francisco (it might be at La Casa Verde)! We had a fantastic time in San Francisco. We stayed at La Casa Verde which made our trip all the more pleasurable. We had seen the house on House Hunters on Vacation on HGTV and were delighted when we found the house on homeaway. The house was perfect for our extended family. It was large enough to all have our own rooms and privacy and also has a third story which is a huge open gathering space. We cooked some meals at the house and ate some out. The kitchen is a dream for anyone who and especially for me because I like to cook. The house looks just like the photos and Robin who is the owner helped us with a lot of our plans. I think we did almost everything she suggested and I don’t think we could have had a better time! We were lucky to have great weather while in San Francisco so we spent time in the beautiful yard barbequing and hanging out together. After staying at the house we spent the next 2 nights in a hotel. We had planned that since the house was already booked during our last two days. We were a party of 12 and we rented 3 rooms in a hotel. What a difference! We had an average of 4 people crammed in each room, some on cots and sharing bathrooms. We had to eat every meal out. Our luggage took over the rooms in the hotel and there was no space. It was a nice hotel, don't get me wrong. It just can't begin to compare to renting a big house. This is the first time I have tried a vacation rental and this is the last time I will use a hotel, especially with a group of people. Yeah for vacation rentals and yeah for La Casa Verde. I have a new way to travel! I would recommend the house for any type of group whether a family or company or a group of friends. It’s simply great. Jerry

San Jose Estate

5 of 5
Excellent property. Only drawback was the ladder ascending to the attic. Rather wobbly and only the fearless dared attempt to sleep up there. Very comfy beds and quiet. Loved the grounds and plenty of room for all. Thanks for sharing. Bren Walker
