An Idyllic Vacation!

5 of 5
The house was even more beautiful then I could have wished for - absolutely everything about it was perfection. I rented it to coincide with my 67th birthday, having had a heart attack a month before - so wanted somewhere peaceful and large enough so that visiting family could be close - yet not too crowded! Ages ranged from me - down to one and a half years old. Everything was provided for the little ones - safety gates for the stairs, travel cots and high chairs. The bathrooms were luxurious and wonderful - as were the bedrooms. The living room, airy, bright and spacious - and the kitchen...almost defies description! Suffice to say it is a REAL kitchen designed for those that really cook - every appliance and tool, sets of knives, great utensils, a beautiful fridge - it was heavenly. The garden was just beautiful - with little corners of it tucked away and of different character to other corners - and a great outdoor eating area. My teenage granddaughter enjoyed the hot tub - and everyone loved the outdoor shower. What was especially wonderful too was its location - just set back enough from the beach and the thundering surf that it wasn't a constant roar, which I imagine could be tiring. But just a half minute walk - and there you are - with a bench perfectly placed for watching the sun set...and miles of the softest sand. The decor was also so interesting - in one way, quite minimalistic and practical - and yet at the same time SO comfortable and thoughtful - and cosy! That is a rare gift to combine all that. Can you guess? - I could have happily never moved out. All communications with the owners were so easy and delightful - and I will say that it was the best birthday present I could have given myself EVER!

Stinson Riviera!

5 of 5
We had the most amazing weekend getaway here for our anniversary! If you think the pictures do this place justice, just wait until you arrive. Elly, the property owner greeted us with a smile after we drove through the electric wooden gate and personally showed us around the property which is immense. As soon as we had barely begun to walk around, we knew we had stumbled upon a total jewel and were already both thinking of when we could come again. Needless to say, we definitely will! The grounds are multi-leveled, with each tier supported by beautiful stone work and landscaped with green lawns and a variety of beautiful plants. You can see and hear the ocean from everywhere. We lucked out with beautiful weather so also got to see a couple of great sunsets. The top tier is where you'll find the bathrooms and shower. The bathrooms and shower are really clean and toilet paper is provided but bring your own toiletries, soap and shampoo. On the top tier is also where the fire pit and BBQ are located. Bring charcoal and fire wood. We really enjoyed looking at the stars and sitting by the fire pit. Chairs with cushions are provided. Further down to the middle tier is a nice area from which you first see the gazebo and it's deck. There is also a sitting area here with comfortable chairs and large umbrella if shade is what you're seeking. The gazebo is terrific for two. The bed is very comfortable with down comforter and multiple pillows and is heated through the floor. It looks like something you would see in the Hobbit. She also provides very nice bath towels. There is electricity there with plenty of outlets for phones, computers, etc. and has overhead lighting. Elly provides a bunch of mini flashlights for getting around the property at night. The microwave and fridge are in the gazebo. The fridge is a college size mini-fridge perfect for a short stay and can hold your beer, wine, juice, etc. but bring a cooler and stop by the local market for ice if you have a lot of items you need to keep cold. Elly provides plastic wine glasses and corkscrew, cutting and serving board and small kitchen knife but remember to bring other dish/plastic ware and utensils. The hot tub is in the best location ever. Perched at the edge of the stone deck overlooking the ocean. Amazing. You'll love it! Down on the lowest level is another area which is the most sheltered and great if the wind picks up. From there it's just down a path to get to the beach!

Relaxing stay in Seadrift

5 of 5
This home on the Seadrift Lagoon is spacious, beautiful, and very well-appointed. The decor is comfortable and tasteful -- being there feels more like borrowing a friend's beach home than staying in a rental property. It's got a very home-y feeling, a wonderfully stocked kitchen, and a great selection of DVD's CD's, etc. Best of all is the beach proximity, lagoon setting, and hot tub, and peace and quiet! The perfect setting for some quality R & R!
