Wonderful home

5 of 5
My family stayed over Thanksgiving weekend last year. The house was perfect and the grounds were wonderful. We had a lot of fun using the fire pit and the games they had for guests use. It was really nice to have a kitchen already stocked with spices and condiments since we cooked Thanksgiving dinner there. The location can't be beat either. You are super close to downtown and there are a lot of wineries near by. The owners are wonderful. They even went so far as to contact me when they found an extra set of car keys. When we realized they were ours, they sent them right away. Overall, I highly recommend staying here and am sure we will be renting it again in the future.

so close and yet it seems so far away

first off---its doggie heaven....lots of completely enclosed yard for them to play and explore. my 4 doxies braved the cold and explored every nook and crevasse they could find. as for me, it was a wonnerful little cottage with everything that you would need. for one of the coldest winters they have had- we stayed warm thanks to the central heating. i closed off the front bdrm and used the back bdrm. the bed was comfy. the kitchen was cozy and fully appointed. as i usually travel with my whole kitchen- i scaled down this time and found it not lacking in anything. the only slight drawback is the poor basic cable options available in that area--mostly local channels and such. luckily, i brought along my mac and monitor and was able to use the great house WIFI to access netflix and hulu to watch movies/etc. talk about instant hot water in the shower---IT WAS GREAT!!BEING SO COLD I DID NOT WANT TO BE STANDING UNDER A COLD SHOWER FOR MINUTES. bring a flashlite and do what the locals do when walking at nite--have it on and swinging so oncoming traffic can see you--it is very dark--not like living in the big city. i walked to the local restaurants and found them serving great food. especially liked the Glen Ellen Star(FARM TO TABLE)--great friendly service staff and fantastic food. the brussel sprouts broiled in a small cast iron skillet smothered with bacon bits---LOTS OF BACON BITS--was to die for. for breakfast i went to the Glen Ellen Garden restaurant. for great mexican food, i went to El Molino Central. try the niman farms pork tamales---real good and brought back fondled memories of my grandmas cooking in chihuahua. the cottage is a great little place with a huge yard and very centrally located...i went on day trips to napa, sonoma, clearlake, petaluma, sabastopol and santa rosa--all easy drives. the glen ellen village market is a good place to find most food items--its bigger version in sonoma carries an even wider selection of local wines cheeses and local meats. lastly and most importantly, Georg was always available via text to answer my questions--very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas my doggies and i will be back---we will wait for the summer time when its above freezing....us angelenos are not used to cold!!!

Perfect Girls Weekend Heaven

5 of 5
5 girlfriends spent an incredibly comfortable weekend at the Elements and we absolutely loved it. The property is stunning, there are just so many different spots to chill and breath in the fresh air. Loved the soaker tub, especially at night when all the redwoods are lit up. We slept late, cooked a lot and drank a lot of great wine. Though it wasn't the plan, we ate at home every evening. The kitchen and pantry is very well appointed. Michael left a basket of produce for us and that ended up saving us Friday night when a girlfriend whipped up butternut squash soup! Enjoyed the little yoga studio in the mornings. Great quality sheets and towels. We slept 2 in the master in the main house, 2 in the guest house and 1 in the little cabin. You are a good 30-45 minute drive to wineries, though I've been to Sonoma Co many times and feel like you have to drive a lot regardless of where you stay. The property is incredibly private. Loved the fire pit, outdoor seating and hammock. Sophie's Cellers was a great stop with helpful recommendations, about 10-15 minutes away. Michael was very responsive to all our questions. Would highly recommend!
