Amazing stay-cation in McCloud/ Mt. Shasta!!

5 of 5
We stayed at this great place during the Memorial weekend. We were party of 10 with one kid and Toad hollow was a perfect house for us. The house is very comfortable and it was a great place to gather with friends. It was well decorated and stocked with kitchen utensils, supplies and toys for kids. The beds were very comfy and night was extremely peaceful. We spent time kayaking in McCloud lake, swimming in Mccloud falls and playing team games at night. The host Lindy is an extremely nice and friendly lady and her recommendations on breakfast place, lunch place and kayak/ bike rentals was very helpful with our planning. We would highly recommend staying at Toad Hollow and McCloud.

A spectacular home in the perfect setting

5 of 5
The photos and description of the house are perfect enough but then you drive up the driveway and are blown away by how fantastic this place really is. There is literally nothing, and I mean NOTHING that the owners have not thought about in making this place a perfect getaway for any # of guests at any age. They even included a packnplay and high chair recently (thank you!). The décor is charming and homey without being too fussy. The game room is chock full of opportunities and the various bikes provided allowed us to skip schlepping ours from Seattle. A truly wonderful place with very thoughtful owners made it a memorable stay indeed. Thank you both so very much!

A Wonderful, secluded cabin

5 of 5
Our group of 5 fly fishermen have long wanted to fish this Golden Triangle of fly fishing in California. We caught and released nice fish in the Fall River, McCloud Lake and the Lower Sacramento River below Redding. We planned to fish the McCloud River but it was "blown out" by high and dirty upstream water. Back to the cabin. It was very nice for our stay. It was modern, clean and air conditioned (we were there in July with temperatures in the high 90's. I believe the website describes the property very well. And the owner is very nice and provides really good info for using the cabin. As for the Burney area, there is a nearby Safeway store which make shopping easy. The town is small and does not have any great restaurants but does have a few small ones. Burney Fall is a must see for anyone going to the Burney Area. Be sure to give yourself time to pause at the falls to look at the intricacies of nature in the beauty and source of the falls.
