We had a perfect stay other than some mildly noisy neighbors but truthfully it comes with the where you are staying. My only suggestion would be that the apt needs to be updated a bit especially the kitchen which just in general needs more updated pots, pans, baking dishes, wine glasses etc. . The view was amazing and the walk into town simple. Parking was never an issue if your ok with a short walk. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

Sisters Get-away

5 of 5
My sister and I finally took our much-delayed retirement trip, spending it in Sausalito on this charming houseboat. We were in Sausalito the third week of August and the weather was perfection every single day. The houseboat was charming and comfortable. We enjoyed the mornings on the deck with our coffee, watching the fog clear, and the evenings on the deck with our happy hour cocktails. Occasionally our friendly "harbor cat" would come by for a visit, pawing at the door to be let in and then curl up in a chair for a nap. We (and the cat, I suspect) felt totally at home. This is a lovely alternative to a hotel. In fact, I'll not likely opt for something as mundane as a hotel room again. This is a great way to livel like a local. Thank you Michele for everything!

Great Value with a Million Dollar View

5 of 5
We escaped the August heat of Dallas to visit San Francisco, but were disillusioned by the cost and size of the hotel rooms so we turned to VRBO. We have always loved Sausalito and this place was perfect. Two levels, great views, outside balcony, kitchen, daybed, office, bedroom, and cool breezes. Nothing was better than just walking the neighborhood and imagining owning one of the million dollar houses with the fabulous views. This was the perfect location away from the traffic for a day trip to Napa, Alexander valley, and a sailing expedition which we did out of Sausalito (see our trip advisor review on A Fine Day for Sailing). Parking on the hilly street was a little tricky, but it is for anyone living in the area and we viewed it as part of the Sausalito living experience. It was a little stuffy when we first arrived but this place is located in "hurricane gulch" and the cross ventilation is amazing. Just read the instructions so you don't tear up the blinds. I don't recall the number of steps, but when you live on a hill, I am not sure how you avoid a few steps.
