Cool Place. Could use some maintenance.

4 of 5
I will begin by saying i wasn't the initial renter of the property. But i stayed with my wife and three small kids and some other family for a week. It worked out great for us as far as the location and the overall general use of the home. It has plenty of ammenities. We came in at night which was sort of eerie, i would recommend coming in for your first glance at daytime just to get your bearings. Lightbulbs were out on the side garage so we couldn't see very well. I changed the bulbs and a couple more in the house during the week. The place was thoroughly stocked with everything you would need to fix general issues if they arose. While it seems like you're in the middle of nowhere, everything is pretty close (within 15 minutes to stores), 25 minutes to santa rosa and other areas. The home itself is cool, my sons loved it, especially the hideaway accessible via a ladder in one of the upstairs bedrooms. They used this throughout the week to play. Lots of natural light, very interesting layout but definitely worked well for the adults being able to stay up while the kids are in bed and not being too loud. Place could've used another TV upstairs or in another room as there is only one TV in the house it makes it hard especially when you have kids who may want to watch cartoons etc. Luckily we had Ipad's and stuff, (the WIFI was spotty once i got it working). The shower upstairs wasn't great, it's a big old tub with a dirty curtain around it. The water smelled like sulfur. I would recommend to the owner that they get the water conditioning system working again. I checked outdoors to see if it was working and to see if there were salt crystals anywhere. I have a similar system at my own home and i know they can be a pain to maintain especially if you're not there all the time. I know what it's like to be on a well and sometimes it's just difficult to keep good tasting/smelling water. We didn't drink the water other than to make coffee or cook pasta etc. The pool area was cool, a little cold to swim for the time of year. I couldn't figure out how to heat the pool, i'm not sure there was actually a pool heater. That said, we did not call the owner and ask. The hot tub is good, it gets pretty hot. Overall the place was very good but the water & general maintenance could've been better. Everyone was creeped out by the big horse photo. Some cool art in the place and a guitar which was cool since i am a guitar player.
