This is such a charming place. The vibe is warm, welcoming, and a little bit luxurious. The place feels brand new. The apartment is situated behind Dayle's gorgeous old Craftsman home. It's two stories, and the attention to detail is spectacular. Every little design detail is perfect, and Dayle has provided every amenity -- including (amazingly) laundry. The bed/bath are downstairs, while the upstairs is a large room that serves as a combined living, kitchen and dining space. The location is incredible -- steps from the beach & also from trendy beachside hotels with great restaurants. It's literally four doors away from an amazing (and $$$) restaurant called Capo. It's also walking distance to the Santa Monica Promenade and Pier. My favorite thing about this rental is that you have the best of the beach and the best of the city right at your fingertips. If you like to run, the beach path is fantastic. Same for people who like to ride bikes. The neighborhood vibe is friendly. I'd say the only drawback is that parking can be a bit tight, but Dayle provides permits to park on her street (which is only one block long) and permits for the beach lot at the bottom of her block. Not much of a drawback, but something to know. I've stayed in a lot of vacation rentals and this is one of my favorites. Nearby hotels charge a lot more, but I can living without someone else making my bed every day. This is a great value.
