Great family/friends residence

5 of 5
Our kids and granddaughter (and their mother in law) spent 3 nights here for a weekend wedding and it was all we could have hoped it would be. Roomy and well furnished/supplied, we had every comfort we needed. The outside terrace in the front had a lovely feel and we spent leisurely mornings and afternoon aperitifs out there and watched the 10 month old crawl all over. It was an easy walk to a number of excellent/eclectic restaurants. Check in and out was a breeze with a great greeter who answered the few questions we had; any other questions were easily answered in a definitive household guide book. Will look forward to other expeditions to Santa Barbara if only to stay at this great property.

Large family perfection

5 of 5
We have stayed in many different areas of Santa Barbara over the years, but have come to prefer Bel Aire Knolls for its quiet retreat from the crowds and yet proximity to beaches, restaurants and grocery stores. We were delighted both with the house and with Hilary's attention to our needs. Bringing our children and grandchildren from Maine and North Carolina to see their 96 year old grandfather just before he passed away was a dream that was made possible by the commodious and comfortable house. The pool and hot tub were a treat and the ability to erect a safety fence around the whole area made for peace of mind. The number of different living areas, both inside and outside, meant ease in gathering for meals and yet separate areas available for adults and kids. The 5 bedrooms were very quiet, well insulated from each other and the noise of the downstairs gatherings. Altogether, this home was a wonderful spot for the 8 of us to spend the week and have other family members over for dinners. The only flaw we could find was that Hilary was not willing to sell the house to us!

Magical intimate wedding

5 of 5
The Tuscan Villa perched high atop a mountain with views forever was the perfect venue for our daughter's truly memorable wedding. The couple opted for a small intimate wedding with immediate family only (20 people), although the venue can accommodate much larger groups. Both the wedding ceremony and reception were held there and most of the relatives stayed in the well-appointed rooms. We rented the estate for three days, which was great because it avoided the chaos of a hurried set-up before and take-down after the wedding. If you are looking for a stress-free wedding then this is it. Although a newer building, Villa Cielo emanates the old world charm of a century old Tuscan estate, complete with a wood-burning pizza oven in the kitchen. The majestic views, infinity pool, sightings of deer in the woods, and excellent accommodations topped off our stay. The property manager was friendly, very helpful, and accommodating. We looked at many venues before selecting this one; it is truly one of Santa Barbara's best kept secrets!! I give it a 10.
