Perfect vacation getaway retreat

5 of 5
My husband and I rented Sunset Heights for our family including our 4 adult children and son in law while in Santa Barbara for our daughter's wedding. It well exceeded our expectations - we felt at home immediately when we found beautiful fresh flowers and a bottle of wine on arrival! The stunning views of the Pacific Ocean took our breath away and the extras like bose stereo system, baby grand piano, and an outdoor kitchen & hot tub were great plusses! It was very clean, comfortable and beyond relaxing! If i was forced to mention a negative, I would say that the master bath could be updated, but that's more than made up for by the rest of this incredible house! We will definitely come back again!

All it needs is air

4 of 5
The home is beautiful. The kitchen is made for cooks, like our group is, and the guest house was just as comfortable as the main house. You can lose yourself in the gardens. I rated it good because it does not have air conditioning, and even in September during the day the house became very warm. It never occured to me that a home like this would not have air conditioning. Must be steamy in the summer.

Great Escape In The Hills of Santa Barbara

5 of 5
What an awesome experience my wife and I had at the Hourglass and S.B. Each day held a new adventure for us from a 6 mile walk (round-trip) on Arroyo Beach to hiking at the end of Paradise Road (Gibralter Road Dam trail) to wine tasting in Santa Ynez and Solvang to dining out at Stella Mare's, Opal, Cold Springs Tavern and Rudy's. Santa Barbara has so much to offer and the Hourglass is conveniently located so that you can reach many destinations in a very short time. 5 to 7 minutes to Arroyo Beach (our favorite beach we found), 20 to 25 minutes to Paradise Rd. and hiking trails, 30 to 35 minutes to Santa Ynez and Solvang and only minutes from all the shops and restaurants on State St. Another A+ for us was the tranquiluity of returning home to a clean, well-maintained chalet with hot shower, comfortable bed and relaxing hot tub that allows a view of the stars. We did extensive research online and explored quite a bit while we were there and believe you would be hard-pressed to find a better price, location and amenities then you can find at the Hourglass. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. A&L from Arizona
