Gifts From the Sea

I spent a blissful week here by myself and have already booked my return trip for next year. As you enter the cottage you feel like you're falling into the ocean. Blue, blue, blue as far as the eye can see. The furniture/bed is comfortable, the lighting is excellent, the kitchen is well stocked, the outdoor patio is divine, the outdoor shower was fabulous. In short the entire experience was excellent. Best of all there is enough of everything - towels, linens, dishcloths in kitchen, pots & pans, dishes, etc., The owners have lovingly prepared a real sanctuary for their guests. I confess that i did not walk down the 250 plus steps to the shore, but I did drive a mile to the easy free beach parking at Hendry's Beach. Mostly though I enjoyed sitting on the bluffs in one of the giant chairs, reading, stargazing, watching the moonlight on the water, hearing the surf all day and night. I could go on and on... Laura, the owner, is easy to work with and very responsive. Thanks for everything!

Cottage with great charm....right on beach!

5 of 5
My family spent a week here and can't wait to go back! It is a true beach cottage, we figure it was built in the 40's, maybe earlier. The cottage was well equipped and even provided bicycles, BBQ, beach chairs, surfboard, sand toys and boogie board. However, for us it was about the location - right on the sand at a truly beautiful beach. Carpenteria is a great little town, reminiscent of days gone by. You'll be close to town - we walked to town for the Avacado Festival and for dinner one night. We spent every day on the beach, walking, exploring the salt marsh, swimming (water was a little cold but it was October), kayaking, shell collecting and relaxing. I hope to be back next year with my family!
