Can't stop thinking about our vacation!

5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home and would love to call it ours. We had some travel issues getting in and so our timing got thrown off by several hours, but the caretaker graciously met us very late and welcomed us to the property and answered any questions we had. It was magical to wake up in the morning and see just what kind of place was ours for the next few days. The views in every direction are gorgeous and the landscaping is so tasteful--we just couldn't walk around without taking a picture of something. The house is very comfortable, clean, spacious and quiet. The birds come to the fountain in the morning and the sun sets on the flowers and stonework in a new and artful way each day. We enjoyed the pool and especially took advantage of the hot tub with the full moon. The view of the city at night competes with the view of the ocean and the islands in the day. Particulars: the kitchen is well-equipped, the pool house is equally so, the beds are comfortable, and bathrooms are clean and plentiful. The drive up to the house lets you know you are someplace special and it's nice to be able to hike right out of the front door. The drive down to amenities --area grocers, shopping, good breakfast spots--is quick and scenic and the drive into town is pretty painless. It was nice to go to the beach and take in that scene or walk the shops on State Street but even nicer to come home to peace and quiet. We wouldn't hesitate to book this home again or recommend it to anyone.

Relaxing, casual home with bohemian vibe ...

5 of 5
I read all of the reviews, and feel I can't say much new ... our story is much the same as the others ... a group of six girlfriends chose this house for a special 25 year reunion. The pictures do not do this house justice. Everywhere you look, there's something to feast the eyes on ... from the view that goes on for miles, mountains, Santa Barbara and ocean ... to the lovely paintings, antiques and Spanish Colonial feel of the house ... to the gardens that beg to be explored and sprawl out through the property. I had to pinch myself! While he house is older, which makes for quirky locks, and uneven floors, this only adds to the charm. The furnishings are incredibly cozy, and there are so many places to lose yourself, both inside and out, with a book, glass of wine, or to visit. We used every room ... coffee and wine on the terraces, breakfast al fresco and in the dining room, after dinner drinks in front of the fire. There are many classic books in the library, the kitchen is well appointed, and there are TV set ups, although with so much beauty, who had time? The only "con" is the location, as it is twisty turny up the hill, but it really turns into a "pro" as the view begs you to never leave. I'm counting the days until I can return ...
