Great vacation location stay.

4 of 5
Wanting to take a vacation to Santa Barbara we did research many places to stay as we wanted to stay out of the motel/hotel venue. We did locate a setting that included three apartment type lodging choices. We did choose Papa Dux as we liked the idea of an upper balcony setting. We had made contact with the owner prior to reserving our stay and Inga gave us all types of valuable information on what was there along with the on-line pictures that we had seen. On arrival we were very pleasantly surprised as the lodging did live up to what we expected and more. The area is walking distance from State street (1 blk) with it's large business district for shopping and dining out. It is also located within a very short walking distance of the wharf and beaches. The accomodations were great and the lodging was very well supplied and had everything available for a stay to include washer/dryer and a kitchen area. It was totally great to be able to sit and enjoy the pleasant surroundings as well as be able to access State street and the beaches by walking-we opted not to use bicycles which are also available at the venue. In summation the accomodations were well thought out and made for a very pleasant stay and the information and contact with Inga and Laura was a nice touch. We thoroughly did enjoy the stay and we will utilize the lodging again while traveling to the Santa Barbara area. Al & Cheryl Lampi-Vista, CA

OASIS IN SANTA BARBARA

5 of 5
This beautiful hilltop home is tucked away from the hustle and bustle but is only a short 5 minute drive to the downtown action. As you enter through the antique wooden gate you are transported to another world...beautiful gardens and and a gorgeous courtyard with a bubbling fountain beg you to enjoy a good book and glass of wine while relaxing on the comfortable furnishings. The bbq was put to good use during our trip and the heater was only needed on one evening as we enjoyed beautiful weather on this trip. The house itself is beautifully decorated with gorgeous artwork and period furnishings. Comfortable seating and throws make it easy to snuggle in. Both the master and the 2nd bedroom have plenty of hanging space (and hangers!) and comfortable beds outfitted with designer bedding and lots of feather pillows and a feather duvet. Both bathrooms reflect the atmosphere of the home with lovely finishes including a claw foot tub and copper sink in the 2nd bathroom. I was very happy with the kitchen as it was equipped with everything one could want to prepare a gourmet meal. If you like to bake there is even a KitchenAid mixer. The kitchen blends in beautifully with the great room living area while looking out through wide expanse of windows over the Santa Barbara hills. The outdoor dining table is a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast while the sun burns off the clouds over the hills. At night the twinkling lights of Santa Barbara are enchanting. This is the main eating area although there are also nice barstools pulled up to the ample kitchen island should you want to eat indoors. Mark has thought of everything and is a very congenial host, happy to recommend spots of interest, restaurants, or whatever you may be looking for. Hilltop Adobe is a jewel!
