Great Vacation!

5 of 5
This was a lovely place to stay. Accommodations were clean and spacious. Well stocked with dishes, flatware, cooking utensils, washer, drier, etc. There was WIFI and a LCD big screen TV. Our hostess lived next door which was fantastic as she helped us with getting settled, places to go, how to park, etc. There was a delicious cake to welcome us as well a bottle a wine. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed very safe. We originally planned on taking UBER cabs but decided at the last moment to rent a minivan through Hotwire (there were 6 of us). Although we were only 3 miles or so from the wharf area it still takes about 20 to 30 minutes to drive. Definitely would not be walk-able due to the steep hills and the cab fare anywhere would add up fast. Uber cab is a flat $60 from the airport. There is a grocery store 5 blocks away and small sandwich/breakfast shop 2 blocks away. Parking is a problem anywhere in the city, but there was one place at the house where we had a guaranteed spot. We were there during the World Series and 2 medical conventions so that was a factor. We had a handicapped parking placard from Ohio which was recognized by CA. With the placard you can park at a metered place for 2 hours, although the locals say they do not enforce it very much.. We would highly recommend this home for your stay. Our deposit was refunded in 2 days.

Absolutely amazing stay in the heart of SF!

5 of 5
We have stayed at Ghirardelli for 2 nights. Location cannot be better. Fantastic restaurant at the door steps, shops, walks, bike routes - all max 1min walk away. 2 min walk to the trams. 7 min taxi ride to Golden Gate. 12 min walk to pier 39 and 15 min walk to pier 33. Locationwise it simply cannot be better. Accommodation is luxurious, very well appointed, WIFI throught, washer/dryer, fully stocked with utensils kitchen. Service professional and utmost customer oriented. Breakfast nice, wine and cheese in the afternoon as definite must around the aritificial bon fire on one of the terraces. Concierge well informed. Views breathtaking. This is the deal!

Tom from Houston

This apartment was great. It had everything we needed for a family of four, but could've easily accommodated six. The apartment is very large extremely well appointed and in a fabulous location. You have easy access to the entire city. Restaurants and shops are close at hand. For those of you who like to cook, this apartment comes with a beautiful kitchen that has all the basics. Although it is not well enough equipped to handle gourmet cooking, you can do very nicely. The local groceries, a Safeway and a whole foods, or about two blocks away This said, the neighborhood restaurants are all very good and generally inexpensive, so if you don't want to cook, don't worry. There are a few important things to know about this apartment that may affect your decision to rent. First, you have to climb a fairly long narrow flight of stairs to get to the apartment. For most people this is not a problem. Second, if you are going to have a rental car, parking is a at a premium. No parking zones rotate to allow for trash pickup and street cleaning. Daytime parking is two hours or with a permit. Our wonderful hosts offered to let us use their parking tag but we felt bad about it so we never took them up on their offer. We did not find the parking to be a big issue. We parked in different places, read the signs, and we were out all day in any event. Third, and this was for us a minor inconvenience, there is only one bathroom and is equipped with a traditional "ball and claw" bathtub, which one of my children found difficult to manage with those minor caveats I wholeheartedly recommend this unit. By the way, the property owners are incredible glass artists. Check out their work for sure. It is amazing. .
