Due to traffic issues on a long drive down from the San Francisco area, we ended up being quite later than expected. The owner was absolutely patient and understanding about the whole thing, and met us at the guest house when we arrived.
The house is just lovely - it is decorated to its fullest potential with just enough furniture, but not too much to overwhelm the space. Our children were even invited to pick oranges off the backyard tree to eat, which they did every morning we stayed at the guest house (the oranges were delicious, by the way).
We were given absolute privacy during our visit, but our son also really enjoyed just sitting in the sun in the yard, which was nicely kept. It was also very quiet.
The house is central to quite a few things - you can walk to the grocery store and Starbucks, as well as quite a few various restaurants in the area. It is less than five minutes to Universal Studios, and just off the highway (although in complete honesty, LA is probably the worst place in the world to use the highway, so maybe that's not really a selling point).
We found the guest house even better than described, and would gladly reserve it again if we are back in the LA area.
