Location, location, location. But that's not all - this place has an incredible interior filled with tile, granite, leather and glass that makes you feel like you're living in a palace. The back patio looks out at the airport and the bay and is fantastic for grilling and hanging out. The master bedroom is something to be coveted, as is the master bathroom, but there was plenty of room, privacy, and comfort available to everyone in our 10 person party.
The place has just about everything you could need, and Dave & Donna are very friendly and available. Dave stayed in the 1-bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor for a few of the nights we were there, but you couldn't ever tell he was there. There's another apartment space carved out on the first floor, but she wasn't there when we stayed.
Overall, the property was very clean and well maintained - Dave has a bit of a green thumb and has fruiting plants covering the property. He and Donna both are great people and work hard to make sure that your stay is exactly what you want it to be.
The only unfortunate circumstance is that all of the hard surfaces in the house tend to magnify sound and so you can't necessarily party at night indoors without risking complaint from the neighbors. One time, we did turn up the sound system to the 0 setting, close the doors, and ask the neighbors if they could hear it in the middle of the day. They said they could not, but if you have a window or a door open then the sound will reverberate.
I would recommend this property to anybody who's looking to be close to the city and all the activities/attractions of San Diego, who wants a classy and spacious place to stay, and doesn't mind a little interaction with the landlords (who are totally cool). We had a fantastic time, and the amenities made "staying in" just as awesome as going out.
