Quiet, Clean, relaxing, Had everything I needed.

5 of 5
I attended a course at Cal Western Law School for a month this summer. During my internship I resided at Parc Suites San Diego. The building, my apartment and the grounds of Parc Suites have been restored and/or remodeled and are well maintained. I appreciated having gated parking and a clean, quiet place to study and relax. Great location, super close to freeways, grocery stores and public transportation. Staff was friendly, available and competent. Great Value for Downtown!

Everything was as promised and more!

5 of 5
Everything was as promised and more! It's obvious that they have considered and provided all of the things they would like in an accommodation from their own travels, from the upgrades in plumbing, fixtures, and furniture down to the baskets of books and magazines. Location was even better than expected, from the short walk to the market and diner to easy access to anywhere in town either by bus line or my own car. The hospitality was sincere. I have already recommended them to family and friends.

Great place for young family, but didn't include some basics

4 of 5
My husband, 2.5 year old, and I spent a week at this lovely place. We’d recommend it with a small caveat. We loved: Location - We are big public transportation nerds, and love to explore a city using buses, subways, walking, trolley cars, etc. We were able to catch a bus from the airport, transfer to the 7 downtown, and arrive within a few blocks of the house. Easy as pie. Then we walked and bussed everywhere from the VRBO - North Park, University Heights and Normal Heights, Hillcrest, Balboa, zoo, downtown/waterfront, and various parks for our toddler -- all were very easy to reach via bus or walking. We got a Compass Card at the Albertson's (10 min walk away) and got a 4-day metro pass. Privacy - We met one of the owners on our first morning and he was very friendly. He gave us some zoo discount tickets he had and was nice to chat with, and otherwise we didn't see him. We entered through the alley, so never had to access the (lovely) common yard if we didn't want to. Size/layout - This is a nice sized two-bedroom apartment over a garage. The bedrooms are full-sized with comfy queen beds -- as depicted in the photos. The bathroom is large, though the shower bar was broken. We were able to hang out and talk at full volume after our toddler went to sleep. Great size for us. We also loved the breakfast bar. Ambiance - There were birds singing outside, screens on windows for cross-breezes, ceiling fans in both bedrooms for circulating air, bamboo in front of some windows, territorial views, and a quiet neighborhood. It was so relaxing. The owners have done a great job of making the "feel" of the place so nice. The one caveat about staying at this lovely place is that the house was did not include some things we consider basics: washcloths, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, garbage bags. Brian told me that they did not stock those items, and that renters like us generally just buy them, though to their great credit, they did drop off some supplies on the little front porch after we called to ask. We’d probably still rent this place again knowing we’d have to buy those things but I guess we’d factor that into cost, convenience, and arrival time (imagine arriving in the middle of the night with no TP!). Also, when we wiped the floor to clean up dropped food in the kitchen, the paper towel was black with dirt. Same with the bathroom. Surprising with such a large cleaning fee. Overall, a wonderful place.
