Nice place for a small family

5 of 5
I stayed here Memorial weekend with my wife and 2 young children (2 and 6). The condo was nice, somewhat small but it worked for my family. It has a great view of the ocean and a nice private patio to enjoy the sunset. It was quiet at night and the people who live upstairs were very nice. The owner lives right next door and is super chill. He kept himself available if we needed anything. There is a really nice beach below the condo with swings and a slide for the kids and a snack bar. The beach is a bit of a hike though so you may want to drive there if you have small children and you bring a bunch of stuff with you. One day we drove down and unloaded everything and my wife dropped the car back at the condo and walked. Another day we just parked at the beach, which is $1.50 and hour. The pier is a 5 minute drive away and if you go there I recommend eating at Cassano's Pizza. Some of the best pizza I have had. Overall, had a great time and would return.

Steps to the sand, mid-century gem

5 of 5
We live about 45 minutes north of Capistrano Beach and as soon as we walked through the home's gate, we found ourselves transported a world away into this little slice of heaven: unbeatable location, amazing views and a wonderful home that is one of only a few of the original beach cottages in Capistrano Beach. Updated enough for comfort while retaining the beautiful mid-century post & beam architecture, indoor-outdoor living concept and single-story design (which was important for our group of travelers), we spent our days listening to the waves crash, watching dolphins, pelicans and sandpipers and collecting a huge variety of pebbles that are common on this stretch of sand. (Note: we are not water sport people, but the options are available if it's what you like to do!) It was the perfect semi-staycation for our family, the definition of relaxation and the owner was so accommodating. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Paul. We will definitely be back again.

Wonderful 'Wheelchair Accessible' Week at the Beac

4 of 5
We loved our stay on Beach Road this year! We've stayed in many homes that professed to be 'handicapped accessible' but all that really meant was that it had high toilets which are mostly good for the elderly. The pictures on this listing interested us most because they looked like we'd be close to the beach, have lots of room, mostly uncarpeted floors, and up-to-date appliances and furnishings. We found all that to be true. We loved the play room and were pleasantly surprised to also find a trampoline. The only accommodation we had to make for my paraplegic companion was to take off the door into the toilet and bath area--all others were wide enough. We appreciated how friendly and helpful the owner was and even when we called him at home, he gave the answers we needed even though if we'd investigated a little more before calling, we could have found them ourselves. The pool man came twice while we were there and the grounds were very well kept. We especially liked the awnings that could be used over the outside table to continue to enjoy the sun without getting burned. The only disappointment was that although there was more than enough room for more than 6 occupants, the law only allows six for overnight. Our family who wanted to rent the upstairs apartment, had to find another place (in Newport Beach) during the same time were just able to visit during the day. All in all, we're planning to rent this house (and possibly the top as well) again next year during the off season.
