New Zealanders touring California

5 of 5
We toured California for 3 weeks recently and finished our tour at the Zen Barn. We booked 3 vacation homes, all were excellent but Zen Barn was our favourite. We had 4 nights there in September and were so pleased with our choice. It was spacious, so beautifully furnished and the bathroom was excellent too. We went sightseeing every day but loved to return late afternoon, have a wine and appreciate the peaceful private setting and lovely views and cook a meal in the well equipped kitchen. It is so close to neighbouring towns and yet in the country also. We had a lovely lunch at The Backyard Restaurant in Forestville and got one of the pizzas ever at the Forestville Pizzeria which we brought home for dinner. Speers Market in Forestville fulfilled our grocery needs well and the service so friendly. We had a lovely day out at nearby Healdsburg, a charming place with great shopping and restaurants. Our say at Zen Barn has made us re-evaluate our thoughts about living in the city. It is a lovely vacation home and we have some great memories.

Great flat, great location

5 of 5
My lady and I spent a week in this superb flat. The location was great, and the building was impeccable. The rooftop area was especially nice. It had everything we needed for a sweet vacation. Thanks again.

Perfect Location!

5 of 5
I was coming into Santa Monica for a wedding. I'm not a big fan of hotels - I hate to eat out all the time and I've found that hotels are as expensive as renting a condo or house. Since it was only me, I wanted a small place and this guesthouse was just perfect. It was close to the beach and had a bus stop within a block. There was a full kitchen with all the amenities, and a lovely private patio. If you don't mind walking, there's a Starbucks and grocery store about 1.5 miles away and excellent restaurants close by. Len was available and very helpful with questions about the area and guesthouse. I plan on staying there again if I'm in the area!
