A Terrific Way To "Go Native" In La Jolla

5 of 5
Our family of four (mom, dad, 11-yr old girl, 15-yr old boy) just spent a terrific week staying at this apartment, which is situated right in the heart of La Jolla Village. This second floor apartment was spotless and very well appointed. We were honestly lacking nothing to make our stay comfortable. Within walking distance of restaurants, a good grocery store, the beach and other amenities, we really enjoyed going native for the week. The Farmers Market, held every Sunday, is ONE block away! A real bonus was the great patio that we enjoyed every morning and then every evening when we returned from our day of exploring. Although these points didn't detract from our family's enjoyment of the property, you may have different ideas of what constitutes a perfect vacation rental: 1) No pool 2) No off-street parking (we didn't have an issue finding on-street parking but La Jolla is densely populated and it may be an issue at certain times of the year). 3) No ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We slept with the windows open; it was a bit noisy with traffic first thing in the morning during the week. 4) The apartment is accessed by a flight of steps. 5) The place is a bit "lighting challenged" for reading at night. Finally, I can't say enough positive things about our hosts. They were very, very nice people who are clearly adept when it comes to managing the property appropriately for guests (they've been at it since 2006). Take some time to get to know them. They are dyed-in-the-wool Californians who are a wealth of knowledge!

Making it simple...made for a lot of fun!

First time VRBO user. Or family was so impressed with how well equipped the home was. Everything we needed and everything had a place (labels to locate it all). The back yard was roomy, great view, lots of seating around a fantastic in ground glass fire pit. Spent every night under the stars just chatting and bringing back childhood stories. Joe was available to answer questions and helped us get situated on move in day. A wonderful time had by all! Looking forward to coming back!

We had a wonderful vacation in Tahoe. The home was fantastic, just like the pictures, very clean all the amitties of staying in a hotel plus..Plenty of linen and towels . We needed to bring our dogs at the last minute and Sherry was more than understanding and accommodating. We also needed to stay later than check out time and Jerry was so kind understanding and allowed us to stay. The cleaning staff came into prior to our leaving since we needed to hang out for a few hours and they were professional very understand to our situation and helpful as well. We will be back for sure.. Thank you again Sherry, Rex, Jerry, and cleaning staff for making our vacation so special..Much appreciation, Carolyn
