GREAT SET UP AND AWESOME CABIN

5 of 5
After a long day of travel from the Midwest we arrived at the cozy cabin. It is extremely easy to find and everything is as advertised. The BEST thing about the cabin was the basement, which included a full bedroom with king size bed and a bathroom with an awesome shower. For families traveling, this is the perfect place for Mom and Dad to set up shop while the kids sleep in the first floor bedroom and loft. My younger son took the spare bedroom and my 15 year old took the loft. There are tons of board games, a wireless network that is easy to connect to and a flat screen TV. The kitchen has plenty of room and has everything that you would ever consider needing. Outside there is an awesome deck with a very nice grill. We cooked out every night and were amazed at the sheer volume and brightness of the stars. The cabin is literally across the road from the Tenaya Lodge and you can either walk or drive if you want to have a nice dinner, drinks or bar food. We were so tired that we went to Tenaya the first night and had a great meal. The next morning, we drove down the mountain to Oakhurst where there is a very nice grocery store with a great beer and wine selection. Its about a 20 minute drive but well worth it and really the only option. On the way back up the mountain, there is the Lewis Trail, which we stopped at and took a short walk down the mountain to a beautiful creek with waterfalls. The kids had a blast finding some monster...I'm talking lobster sized crayfish in the water. Its the perfect place for a picnic. There is also a riding stable right across the street from the cabin and we took an hour horseback ride, which was a blast. The giant sequoias are only a few miles down the road. Yosemite speaks for itself and if you havent been there, the sheer size of the place makes staying anywhere a hike to get to some parts. We did all the typical spots...Glacier Peak, Tunnel View, El Capitan, Vernal Falls and late one afternoon decided to go for a hike down into Mono Meadow, where I popped up over a rise and found myself locked eye to eye with a big reddish-brown bear at about 40 yards. You haven't felt adrenalin until you come face to face with a bear in the wild. We quickly and quietly left! The best part of the trip for my kids was Ken's old lazy boy in the cabin. They literally came to blows every night as to who got to sit it it! All in all great trip, great place and super cool people to rent from!

VERY NICE, COZY CABIN!

4 of 5
Our stay at your log cabin was fantastic! It is such a cozy place and such a pleasure to return to after a day of sightseeing. The location was perfect--just a short walk to the beach and dog park. There were always entertaining things going on down there, yet it was so peaceful and quiet. The cabin itself was well stocked with all that we needed and wanted! It really enhanced the beauty of Lake Tahoe! It was very clean and well maintained. It was our first visit to the area, so quite a bit of time was spent just exploring the area. We highly recommend taking the gondola to Heavenly! It was well worth the price!

5+++ CHARMING VINTAGE GETAWAY!

5 of 5
Upon receiving news of the San Diego fires, my boyfriend and I decided to cancel our trip to SD and look into Lake Arrowhead instead. We luckily came across Greg’s vintage charmer and crossed our fingers that it would be available for the weekend. After contacting Greg the night before our scheduled trip we anxiously waited to see if the cabin was free. Sure enough Greg sent an email the morning of our departure and expressed that fortunately the cabin was free and that he would be able to accommodate us last minute. Greg made the process entirely easy from processing payment to getting all directions and details to us within hours, he even planted fresh flowers for us on the deck prior to our arrival. My birthday getaway was well on it’s way, Greg even gave us suggestions on a restaurants around the area and activities that would be nice to do. Once we arrived at the cabin, which was pretty late at night we opened the front door and were thoroughly impressed with the vintage feel of the cabin. The cabin was tastefully decorated and had all the amenities one could ask for in order to make our trip delightful. We loved the big 42” plasma and surround sound. Greg put together a very detailed book explaining how to use the remote control as well as the portable dishwasher which we opted to use the dish-master instead. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom which had an amazingly comfortable bed that we thoroughly enjoyed and got some rest. The two neat bedrooms upstairs reminded us of a tree house, along with the well preserved knotty pine throughout. We enjoyed breakfast and made tasty waffles with the waffle maker at the cabin and sat outside on the beautifully built, spacious deck. The deck was our highlight as we thoroughly enjoyed sitting and reading with nature surrounding us. There is WIFI at the cabin if you need to stay connected, but we were pretty much off grid since we had no reception up there and it was nice! We also hiked down to the lake per Greg’s instructions and around the lake into the village. It was a quick hike so no car is needed to get down there. The shower was nice and there were little bottles of shampoo and soap just like a hotel for your stay, thank goodness because I forgot my body wash so that was very nice to have. The cabin is truly comfortable and yet modern that you can thoroughly enjoy your time up in the quaint neighborhood. We thank Greg for sharing your beautiful vintage charmer, we will be back!
