Perfect Location!

5 of 5
I was coming into Santa Monica for a wedding. I'm not a big fan of hotels - I hate to eat out all the time and I've found that hotels are as expensive as renting a condo or house. Since it was only me, I wanted a small place and this guesthouse was just perfect. It was close to the beach and had a bus stop within a block. There was a full kitchen with all the amenities, and a lovely private patio. If you don't mind walking, there's a Starbucks and grocery store about 1.5 miles away and excellent restaurants close by. Len was available and very helpful with questions about the area and guesthouse. I plan on staying there again if I'm in the area!

Stinson Riviera!

5 of 5
We had the most amazing weekend getaway here for our anniversary! If you think the pictures do this place justice, just wait until you arrive. Elly, the property owner greeted us with a smile after we drove through the electric wooden gate and personally showed us around the property which is immense. As soon as we had barely begun to walk around, we knew we had stumbled upon a total jewel and were already both thinking of when we could come again. Needless to say, we definitely will! The grounds are multi-leveled, with each tier supported by beautiful stone work and landscaped with green lawns and a variety of beautiful plants. You can see and hear the ocean from everywhere. We lucked out with beautiful weather so also got to see a couple of great sunsets. The top tier is where you'll find the bathrooms and shower. The bathrooms and shower are really clean and toilet paper is provided but bring your own toiletries, soap and shampoo. On the top tier is also where the fire pit and BBQ are located. Bring charcoal and fire wood. We really enjoyed looking at the stars and sitting by the fire pit. Chairs with cushions are provided. Further down to the middle tier is a nice area from which you first see the gazebo and it's deck. There is also a sitting area here with comfortable chairs and large umbrella if shade is what you're seeking. The gazebo is terrific for two. The bed is very comfortable with down comforter and multiple pillows and is heated through the floor. It looks like something you would see in the Hobbit. She also provides very nice bath towels. There is electricity there with plenty of outlets for phones, computers, etc. and has overhead lighting. Elly provides a bunch of mini flashlights for getting around the property at night. The microwave and fridge are in the gazebo. The fridge is a college size mini-fridge perfect for a short stay and can hold your beer, wine, juice, etc. but bring a cooler and stop by the local market for ice if you have a lot of items you need to keep cold. Elly provides plastic wine glasses and corkscrew, cutting and serving board and small kitchen knife but remember to bring other dish/plastic ware and utensils. The hot tub is in the best location ever. Perched at the edge of the stone deck overlooking the ocean. Amazing. You'll love it! Down on the lowest level is another area which is the most sheltered and great if the wind picks up. From there it's just down a path to get to the beach!

Great studio, great view, great location

5 of 5
We had a very nice 5-night stay at Kathy and John’s studio unit. The 3rd floor deck is very enjoyable for breakfast and sunsets with Mission Bay and the Pacific to the west. The ground floor yard with BBQ/refrigerator/dining area is great for meals on the patio. The Murphy bed was very comfy, the unit was very clean, and they provided all the conveniences of home when it comes to kitchen gear and bath supplies that you may have forgotten. The location is excellent in terms of proximity to many of San Diego’s sights and freeway access is easy. You are just far enough from the beach to avoid the fog that tends to roll in at night along the coast, and you can be sailing or surfing with a short drive. All-in-all a very good choice.
