Stinson Riviera!

5 of 5
We had the most amazing weekend getaway here for our anniversary! If you think the pictures do this place justice, just wait until you arrive. Elly, the property owner greeted us with a smile after we drove through the electric wooden gate and personally showed us around the property which is immense. As soon as we had barely begun to walk around, we knew we had stumbled upon a total jewel and were already both thinking of when we could come again. Needless to say, we definitely will! The grounds are multi-leveled, with each tier supported by beautiful stone work and landscaped with green lawns and a variety of beautiful plants. You can see and hear the ocean from everywhere. We lucked out with beautiful weather so also got to see a couple of great sunsets. The top tier is where you'll find the bathrooms and shower. The bathrooms and shower are really clean and toilet paper is provided but bring your own toiletries, soap and shampoo. On the top tier is also where the fire pit and BBQ are located. Bring charcoal and fire wood. We really enjoyed looking at the stars and sitting by the fire pit. Chairs with cushions are provided. Further down to the middle tier is a nice area from which you first see the gazebo and it's deck. There is also a sitting area here with comfortable chairs and large umbrella if shade is what you're seeking. The gazebo is terrific for two. The bed is very comfortable with down comforter and multiple pillows and is heated through the floor. It looks like something you would see in the Hobbit. She also provides very nice bath towels. There is electricity there with plenty of outlets for phones, computers, etc. and has overhead lighting. Elly provides a bunch of mini flashlights for getting around the property at night. The microwave and fridge are in the gazebo. The fridge is a college size mini-fridge perfect for a short stay and can hold your beer, wine, juice, etc. but bring a cooler and stop by the local market for ice if you have a lot of items you need to keep cold. Elly provides plastic wine glasses and corkscrew, cutting and serving board and small kitchen knife but remember to bring other dish/plastic ware and utensils. The hot tub is in the best location ever. Perched at the edge of the stone deck overlooking the ocean. Amazing. You'll love it! Down on the lowest level is another area which is the most sheltered and great if the wind picks up. From there it's just down a path to get to the beach!

Oct Trip

5 of 5
My wife and I had a reservation in September, but unfortunately had to cancel due to the nearby forest fires. The manager actually informed us of the fire and was very gracious offering a refund. We instead chose to reschedule to October. We missed out by visiting in the shoulder season where the gondola was down and a lot of the village shops were closed. But, still he location is perfect, and we found a ton of very good hikes and eats in nearby Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. We'll be back.

Perfect little retreat in the trees!

5 of 5
I love a place that feels like a secret spot and has a personal touch. This rental has both! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend this past month and did not want to leave. We were able to just park the car and walk everywhere in Laguna. The beach was fantastic and close, amazing restaurants (Cafe Zoolu is a must), a great farmers market, and just the cutest beach town ever. Elizabeth provided everything you could possibly need, including beach chairs and an umbrella. (we only had one beach towel though, which was an easy buy at a local shop in town) The outside deck made for a perfect spot to get some early morning work in and a little yoga. Bed was super comfortable as well. Next time you are passing through Laguna, this is your spot for a serene retreat in the trees!
