Beautiful Home in a Great Location

5 of 5
This home is truly a special place. We enjoyed our stay while visiting our son at Stanford. The location was perfect since he was very busy and had limited time to spend with us, we were a 5 minute ride to campus. The kitchen was just like home with may options for making home cooked meals. We also spent a lot of time sight seeing and it was an easy ride to the coast and mountain areas. Both bedrooms had private bathrooms and everything was very clean. The yard is beautiful with a pool, in late November we were able to sit by the pool and enjoy. We will definitely rent again hopefully next year, thank you to the O'Sisters for sharing their home!!

Amazing… An absolute treat.

5 of 5
This home is Beautiful. The setting is just perfect. We traveled for business and after long days at work in the city, coming back home was a treat. The house is modern and spacious. Wonderful for two business partners and myself. Each having our own bedroom/bathroom - fantastic privacy - yet when coming together in the entertainer’s kitchen was delightful (the kitchen has the best appliances you can buy). We enjoyed cooking in and relaxing on the many decks. A special must-do note while staying at this home, those looking for fresh air, exercise and a joy for the senses: venture out to the trail up the hill and behind the property, leads to a beautiful tree swing and amazing views of the valley. We took sunrise jogs every morning. We look forward to our return trips to Palo Alto and staying in this beautiful home in Portola Valley.

Truly exceptional hosts, house, and yard

5 of 5
Hollie and Bill were fantastic hosts and their house is exceptional. We stayed here for just under a month during a "working vacation": I worked while my family vacationed. We have done this twice before and this was definitely the best place we've found to stay. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The house is nice and large, a roomy four bedrooms. This worked well for us since we have three children and had guests come to stay with us as well. The master suite is luxurious. Hollie & Bill left everything sparkling clean, very tidy and well organized with little labels to tell us (for example) which sheets went with which bed. Such a large and comfortable house is unusual in Silicon Valley in my experience; the other thing that really makes this place stand apart is the yard. Back home our house sits on over two acres and we always struggle in California to find a place where the kids won't feel hemmed in. The kids played on the play structure, swung on the big tree swing, and filled the large backyard driveway with sidewalk chalk. There are multiple picnic tables and an nice outdoor kitchen and a shed full of bikes that our hosts graciously let us borrow - much to the delight of our kids who had just all learned to ride. We picked avocados and lemons from the trees in the yard and generally enjoyed being outside in the great South Bay weather. The neighborhood is nice, quiet, and a bit older with lots of big mature trees. We didn't get to know any neighbors while we were there, but it seemed like a pleasant place. The house is a short walk or shorter bike ride to the San Antonio Caltrain Station, and convenient to El Camino Real with all the shopping you need and lots of great restaurants. The nearby "Chef Chu's" is some of the best Chinese food in the Valley, by the way. Hollie and Bill were responsive, helpful, and thoughtful hosts - all while they were a continent away. They prepared carefully for our visit and were very generous with their bikes, many kid toys in the garage, etc. Overall I can't say enough nice things about our visit. I would particularly recommend this place to a family with multiple kids, especially if they are under 10 or so. Thanks Hollie and Bill for having us!
