Pros and Cons

4 of 5
This was our first time staying at this specific condo. We've stayed at various Palm Villa condos. The main reason we selected this one was because it was one of the few that were "child" friendly. Overall the experience was good but there were a few cons.....to be fair I'll list the pros as well. Pros - Condo was very clean - Facility/grounds are very clean, easy pool access, there are numerous pools throughout the property, so if one is crowed move on to the next. - Five minute drive into the nerve center Cons - Condo supplies just the bare minimum. My husband and I like to cook and there were limited supplies to work with. Also, you're provided with a singular roll of toilet paper. I don't expect to have endless toilet paper access but one roll? - The bed was very firm. For those of you that don't like firm beds you've been warned. We slept miserably our entire stay. Just. - The sofa has done its time. Very uncomfortable; it's well worn in. The cons are being mentioned because we go to Palm Springs for R & R and some of the primary amenities affected our R&R! So it goes. The lack of lighting has been mentioned in previous reviews; just an FYI every condo we've stayed at has little natuaral light. They're just dark. I'm sure it's to keep everyone cool during the really hot days. Overall our stay was good. This condo is over priced for what you get but it is child friendly.

Beautiful place for a getaway

4 of 5
I felt at home the moment I opened the front door. The pictures accurately show The Crown Jewel off. The kitchen is gorgeous and has everything you need. I spent time by the pool, which was also lovely. The grounds are well kept and the neighbours quite friendly. The view of the mountain is amazing to look at from the dining table. I started every morning with breakfast and coffee on the balcony. The condo is very close to downtown if you have rented a car and parking is free. One night after craving some salt water taffy I went downtown, picked up the taffy and was back home in 19 minutes which was probably a few minutes longer than it took to get to and from the airport. Everything in close, including Abernathys for grocery shopping. Any time I sent an email to David, either before or during my stay I received a prompt response. The only down side was being located right beside 111. I always had to shut the windows at night and use the air conditioner in order to keep the traffic sound away from my sleep. The plus side of being next to 111 meant easy and fast access to downtown and to the high end outlet mall shopping in Cabazon. I am very glad I discovered this rental opportunity when I was planning my vacation! Thanks to David and Jennifer for providing top of the line accomodations and service!

Cozy, large & quiet indeed!

5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay in this lovely mid-century modern studio villa! It was the perfect amount of space for two of us. The kitchen has a great little island. We ate in at that island as much as we ate out (Lulu's, Cheeky's, Mama Gina's, The Cliff House, Elmer's-all very close) Everything is well maintained. We definitely recommend this property. The owners, Pierre & Gerald, met us coming and going and in between brought us back to-die-for croissants from the Peninsula Bakery. We also ran in to them poolside - where we spent the majority of our time (with trips to Joshua Tree, the Tram, Idyllwild, Palm Desert, museums, the street fair). Great hosts. Great place! Gem in the desert!
