It doesn't get any better than this!

5 of 5
This is my second time staying here and it was just as fabulous the 2nd time around. The property is absolutely perfect.....spotlessly cleaned and better than described. This two bedroom cottage is so cozy and homey that we never wanted our stay to end. Julie and Ken have created a mini paradise for their guests. The location is amazing because it's so close to the beach, not far from the airport, and in walking distance of several wonderful restaurants. The Fishery and The Fat Fish Cantina were our favorites. The San Diego Surf School gives lesson right there on the beach near the property, so my 10 year old daughter had a blast taking a private surf lesson and we didn't have to go out of our way to get there!! There is no need for a car because you are in walking distance of great restaurants, grocery stores, etc. But if you do have a car, this property comes with a garage parking spot which is a bonus when you are staying this close to the beach! Another bonus was the boogie board and sand chairs we found in the garage. I would recommend this place to my best of friends and family!!

Location - clean & quiet location!

5 of 5
What a wonderful experience! You can't find a better location or a cleaner place to stay. White carpet and walls and yet perfectly clean. I'm impressed! The view of the beach is very nice. There is access to both the beach and the "board walk" right next to the house. And even though restaurants and clubs are just a few minutes walk it was perfectly quiet. Try breakfast at Konos, near the pier, for an inexpensive treat. Having access to a garage was very nice, and anything you might want to see outside of this charming area is only 20 minutes drive in any direction (including conference facilities). Highlights include - Balboa Park (one free museum on Tuesdays), Torrey Pines State Preserve (park near the taco restaurant for free parking and lunch), Cabrillo National Monument (a must see at low tide/amazing views), Old Town for history & tourist shops, and Bandar in the gas light district for an amazing lunch (delicious Persian fare/huge helpings). It was also wonderful to have a clean, fully equipped kitchen (gas), access to a washer & dryer, a blue ray player (red box is nearby), and the grill we kept meaning to get to. Julie provides you with as much assistance or privacy as you need. When our fellow conference members groaned about their hotel rooms we gleefully returned to our place with a view.

Beyond expectations

5 of 5
First time using VRBO, was a little skeptical not knowing what to expect. Looked through tons of listings for a place close to the ocean at a reasonable price. This place was perfect for us, has ocean views from most windows and is a half block away from a little park and the beach. Being able to leave the second floor bedroom window open all night and hear the waves was a huge plus, although you will hear some street noise early in the morning. The place is absolutely clean, spotless, and very well maintained and includes everything you'll need for a stay. Julie is wonderful to work with and took the time to answer all my questions before we booked. Yes, there are fancier places for a lot more money, but if you are just looking for a comfy, roomy, clean, quiet and secure place to call home for a week you can't go wrong! I can see why many of the renters are returns. The only negative I can think of is that the garage has a huge beam in the middle which makes parking a challenge, especially if you own a larger vehicle.
