                        Recent Ocean Beach Reviews

The perfect spot to stage a SD beach vacation.

                        5 of 5
The Casita in OB was everything we had hoped for and perfect for a week long stay for our family of 4. It felt a little bit like a home away from home for us and helped cure our longing for some beach time. The kitchen is completely outfitted with everything necessary to cook and prepare meals, the oven / range is new, and everything was well maintained and clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the living room was very cozy. The bonus 'playroom' at the rear of the house, the outdoor courtyard, the rustic outdoors shower, the BBQ grill, and the outdoor living spaces really make the place. The dedicated parking space in the rear is also very convenient and was always available. This is a genuine local beach house outfitted with all the important things needed to properly enjoy the beach. All the extra owner amenities made it really great for us – the cruzer bikes, the extra body boards, the wagon, sand toys, the stroller, the cooler etc….The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly teaching the girls to body board they loved the (2) bodyboards that were at the casita. And then also coming back after the beach and using the outdoor shower. Then the location was also perfect for staging for sight-seeing other places in San Diego. Its really close to many of San Diego's main attractions, and easy to get to and from. Ocean Beach is a change of pace in contrast to many other places, as a very casual beach town. We beached in several other places, but spent the most time at OB near the Dog Beach, because it is so near and nice. There was some good surf several days and overall the place has a relaxing and very laid back vibe. The OB Noodle house nearby was fun to dine in, and lots of great beer choices. There are several nearby convenience stores with most everything you need, and there were also several other dining options nearby that looked good. I would have no hesitations recommending the Casita, especially for families looking for a great spot to stage a real beach and sight seeing vacation of San Diego. The owner Corey was excellent with us, he provided some valuable insights and suggestions before we arrived and greeted us at check-in to orient us to the basics of the Casita. I hope others find this review helpful, consider staying at the casita and enjoy it as much as we did.

Fantastic cottage. Just right for our little family of 4 (baby & toddler) but could imagine a great place for a couple. We were right next to the beach, had everything we needed. The outdoor space is a lot bigger thank it looks on the pictures, the cottage is lovely. Better than any hotel would have been - we will be back for sure!

                        Lotus Cottages

                        5 of 5
We were evacuated during the California Wildfires and so we rented this cottage for four days. We really enjoyed staying there. I enjoyed the fact that because it has been recently renovated, everything was brand new. I am also a history buff and standing on the part of the back deck that used to be Wonderland simply intrigued and excited me. The cottage was cozy and comfortable and the decks gave us an opportunity to get away from people which is what I really needed to do. I loved the stained glass windows in the bedroom and bathroom and the sound system was pretty terrific. I have a penchant for wood, so I really enjoyed the paneleing and cabinets. They are beautiffuly done. The beach really is maybe a two minute walk away and the pier is very close. All and all my husband and I had a great time there and in spite of worrying whether or not our home would be there when we returned, we were truly able to relax and enjoy the beach community life and there is plently to do within walking distance. The only thing I could say that "could" be a problem is parking if you have more than one car. There is parking on the property for one car, otherwise you have to park on the street. Though it is a beach community which by nature has a lot of people, I felt very safe there. The cottage was setup the way it was presented in the advertising, it is clean and very well maintained, I didn't have to deal with the owner much but he responded to my questions or requests quickly. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to be at the beach but have privacy too. We mostly just cooked in the kitchen but we did go to Thee Bungalow for dinner one night and really enjoyed it.
