Good base for exploring San Francisco

            4 of 5
We wanted somewhere to stay whilst we spent a few days exploring San Francisco on our short tour of California. This was cheaper than staying in SF even taking into account transport into and parking in SF. The property was nicely decorated ,comfortable, and well equipped (even though my husband moaned about the lack of a kettle to make his morning tea with!) There was no air conditioning but opening all of the windows in the evening helped cool the place down. There were some signs of wear and tear in places but that wasn't a problem and we would recommend this place as a base from which to explore SF. We didn't see much of Oakland so cant comment on the area . We didn't meet the owners but they were quick to respond to emails. My husband had to ring them on the last day to tell them he had misplaced a set of keys. We were worried that we would have to pay a fortune for lock and key replacements and were very pleased when we found they had deducted less than half of our security deposit to pay for this. Neighbours all seemed friendly and tried to help us look for the keys.

            Love this place!

            5 of 5
This is a fantastic find! The place is well-stocked for short-and long-term stays, cute as can be, in a quiet building and quiet neighborhood, and within easy walking distance of restaurants, shopping, Piedmont grocery store, Peet's Coffee, and the Oakland rose garden. The owner is very responsive. It's also very easy to get on the highway from the unit, and be in San Francisco in less than 30 minutes (at the right time of day). Bus transportation is very convenient, with a bus stop a little more than a block away that takes you to downtown Oakland and the 19th Street BART station. It's great for one or two people and for working trips. I would absolutely stay here again. Thanks!!
