Memorable Girls Weekend

4 of 5
Girlfriends from 4 different states met up and stayed at this lovely home in Napa. I would definitely stay here again. Overall, we all had a great time for an escape of our every day lives. Age ranges 25-39. The house was decorated lovely for the Christmas holiday! Between 6-8 of us depending on the day. We got so cozy, comfortable and had such a blast in the house, that we really only ventured out into Napa for one day!!! Great location as it is easy to get to the grocery store, restaurants, downtown napa and wineries. The decor is unique and is different in every room. Upsides: great home layout, open spaces, gorgeous views, never ran out of soft towels (this is HUGE), board games, poker set, beds were comfortable, washer/dryer, plenty of bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, fans in every room, large fridge/freezer, awesome pool (just cold and not covered), wifi, felt safe, great BBQ, secluded so we didn't have to worry about being loud or laughter into the late hours of the night, cleaning supplies, disinfectant wipes, felt like a home away from home Downsides: the pool is not heated, there is a fence that actually separates the yard from the vineyard, the shower water is very soft flowing and not pressurized (annoyance, for my thick tangled hair), couldn't really figure out the tv (not a biggie because this allowed us to converse more with each other, we didn't call to figure it out either), the outside bar area was not clean, i.e. mold in the unplugged fridge (it was an area that we didn't utilize, had it been warmer weather we would've used it), the cleaning fee is excessive especially for the high rate that is already being paid (I know we left the house in great condition and for a single person to come in and clean after us would only have taken 2-3 hours tops and the majority of that would be laundry..towels, bedding) Suggestions to the owner: property guide book/compendium (similar to what you would find in a hotel room, house information, tv instructions, local restaurants, wineries, activities, how to rent bicycles, car services etc), putting in a hot tub (there is plenty of space for one and this would have definitely made a huge difference in our stay, especially in the evenings), suction cup wine glass holders in the showers I can't speak for the guest house, I never went over and explored it! However, if traveling with little kids, I would caution the stairs as the staircase sides are open.

Quintessential Napa Holiday

5 of 5
This property exceeded expectations from the moment you pull in the drive.  With the vineyards surrounding the property and horse and hobby farm neighbors you feel like you are in your own country estate in the valley, however its location to wineries to the north no more than 30 minutes away or a 5 minute drive to Oxbow Market and Napa downtown you are close to everything.  Inside marble bathrooms and open kitchen appointed with granite and stainless appliances impress, however furnishings are comfortable, warm, and welcoming to relaxing by the fireplace.   A rare property with each bedroom having a private bathroom with walk in showers and closets is beyond that of hotels or a bed and breakfast, all allowed us to stay together as a group but not give up privacy or comfort.  From the outdoor pool and hot tub, views of the Mayacamas mountain range in the west above Yountville allow glimpses of hot air balloons in the morning and sunset in the evening.  If the property was it, I would stop here, however I have to mention it’s owner Ellie.  She went above and beyond, going out of her way to make sure our group had the best experience possible by taking care of many inquiries, offering assistance at any notice, and extreme personal generosity.  I found this a mark of a professional, yet she became a true friend as we enjoyed our tour and tasting she offered at her new winery Eleven Eleven. Located a few miles from the house, an exquisite building refinished with reclaimed wood and barrels they have created a great space.  In addition, they have crafted an excellent portfolio of wines with winemaker Kirk Venge, the son of legendary Nils Venge who had the first Napa cabernet to be rated 100 points by Robert Parker.  Kirk also responsibility for managing his own vineyard near Calistoga shows a testament to Ellie’s hardwork and belief in the cabernet grown around the house.  I personally enjoyed the Syrah with its good balance of structure and smoothness and also the excellent fuller bodied Rose, which immediately won over the women in our group when enjoyed lounging out back poolside.  All of these pieces came together to create a vacation experience for our group we will certainly not forget and intend to make an annual.  Saying it won’t simply be enough, but thank you Ellie. Our group is truly grateful and can't wait for our next visit. ZC and the Midwest Crew

All the Beauty, Heart & Soul of Napa Valley

5 of 5
Treat yourself to a true Napa experience surrounded by lush vineyards and gardens and warm hospitality. The studio is set on a unique property that gives you everything you want from comfort, to convenience to privacy and a great location lending easy access to Napa and Sonoma. The Studio is incredibly clean, spacious and well-appointed. The pictures accurately show the uniqueness of the cool design and decor. The grounds are so lovely and beautifully maintained with paths to wander from gardens and arbors to pool to orchard and vineyard. My hosts D &J are long-time Napa residents and artists, who were creative, warm and helpful in their suggestions of what to see, do and taste in the area. This is so much more memorable than any regular hotel experience- you'll feel like you were truly immersed in wine country life.
