We took our two small children to Disneyland and tacked on three days in San Diego to help restore our sanity. This condo was perfect for us in every way. The kids had their own bedroom, Connie had a pack-n-play ready for us, and any amenity you might need for the beach was available... beach towels, toys, chairs, you name it. Plenty of space for a family of four to spread out after a few days in a hotel together. The condo is beautifully furnished and very comfortable.
You are steps from the bay, which is great with little ones - very calm, no waves, much easier to maintain an active toddler playing than on the ocean side. But being one minute from the Pacific side was great for walking down the boardwalk, playing in the waves with our 5 year old, and watching the sunsets.
The patio and grill were fantastic for a nice dinner al fresco. The garage was an invaluable feature, as parking is definitely at a premium throughout the area. There are several bikes to use and all were in great shape... I had two great morning rides.
We thought the location was great... we relaxed on the beach, visited the zoo, and took in a Padres game - and nothing was more than 15 minutes away, including the airport. You're also five minutes away from Sea World. We had our fill of theme parks in Anaheim and didn't visit this time, but sitting on the patio with a glass of wine watching the fireworks in 70 degree comfort is just an awesome way to end any day.
My favorite "feature" was being just a two minute bike ride from Baked. Try the grilled cinnamon roll, it's heavenly.
We loved San Diego and Mission Beach, and the condo was a perfect home base with kids. I am certain we'll be back again. Thanks for the hospitality, Connie.
