This spot offers all that visitors want from a trip to Mendo County. My wife and I go to different places on the coast each year just after Christmas to unwind. We stayed at the Sea Tower for 7 days and were constantly busy - mostly hiking from the front door to adjacent state parks, same with bicycle riding, and cooking our meals in the very well outfitted kitchen. If you need a pot, pan, or a particular spice, they have it. We felt at ease using everything - this is not our normal VRBO experience.
On some days we drove north or south to expand the recreation options. (We are not much for shopping but of course it's there.)
The cottage itself is very cozy, well furnished, and located on a bluff with breath taking views of the ocean and sunsets. The adjacent area is very nicely developed.
We must qualify our experience to note that we were there in the drought of 2013. There was nary a cloud, nor fog at any time. These wonderful conditions are not the norm for the North Coast in December/early Jan, but we booked this property assuming typical Mendo weather and the amenities (fire place, hot tub, WiFi, library...) would have worked out in any case.
