This was our first trip to California—We live in Berlin, Germany. From the terrace, we saw dolphins almost every morning, and whales, four times in a week. The house sits behind gates and is very private and safe. We felt comfortable letting our two children run free without constant supervision. And there is plenty of private parking space behind the gates, maybe enough for 10 cars. So when we had a small social evening, everyone was able to park.
This house has a lot of style, it blends the best of old Malibu with Provence. The owner, who is from Provence, told us that he personally decorated this house and it shows. From the 19th century antique South of France mirror above the fireplace to the Malibu tile factory tiles around the fireplace and the reclaimed antique Mexican Saltillo tiles on the floor, this place looks as good as the houses in Architectural Digest. We noticed that Travel & Leisure magazine just did a feature article on this property (“Celebrity Houses You Can Rent”). This is a great place. We are leaving with wonderful memories and hope to be back.
