The Villa Sophia was a truly remarkable experience

5 of 5
Amazing! With its Mediterranean Revival style 1920’s design, sunbathed and secluded pool, and picturesque expansive views, The Villa Sophia was a truly remarkable experience that feels like old Hollywood meets classic St. Tropez. Even the photographs—which show how beautiful the home is—can’t truly prepare you for how amazing your stay will be. You really feel like a celebrity enjoying a long weekend at your private chateau…relaxing…warm…beautiful…exclusive. Once you step inside the poolhouse, which is where you will be staying/sleeping, you immediately feel as though you’ve entered a spa. Clean, well-designed and spacious. Not to mention it has an actual, huge spa-like shower area. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room itself is very quiet, making it the perfect setting to get relaxing sleep. And then...there are few better ways to wake up in the morning than to the slow sunrise peeking up through the floor-to-ceiling windows (with curtains) that make up an entire side of the poolhouse overlooking the pool and city skyline. To top it all off, Tim (and Sophia!) were incredible hosts. Friendly, helpful and respectful. We got to chat with Tim for a bit and really enjoyed the conversation. If you have the chance, have him tell you the history of the house (which was built in the ‘20s) as well as the pool/poolhouse (which he had constructed in the early 2000s). Beyond the home itself, which truly is incredible, The Villa Sophia is located in a really great area. In the hills of Los Feliz (beautiful neighborhood), just next to the famed Hollywood Hills, you are within walking distance to great bars and restaurants (in Los Feliz), as well as great hiking and running trails (Griffith Park). In fact, I’d suggest it is a must do to hike up to the Griffith Observatory, both for the hike itself as well as the beautiful views once at the observatory. Long story short, it’s the type of place you never want to leave but when you do, you immediately want to show the photos to everyone you know. Highly, highly, highly recommended. Thanks Tim and Sophia! My wife and I had an amazing visit. We definitely hope to stay again.

Home Sweet Home

5 of 5
This home was absolutely perfect, it instantly felt like home. It has everything you could need extremely comfortable and clean. My kids and kitty loved this home as well. I wanted to thank Taylor for preparing for our stay and his quick response to any questions. I highly recommend staying here, its centrally located to everything you can possibly do in California & is on a quiet residential block. I already miss this home! Great Vacation, Great Home, Great Experience!!

Absolutely amazing and tranquil place!

5 of 5
After a 6 day (and pretty hectic) business trip in San Francisco, this was the perfect retreat for me. It has that feel as the apartment is situated at the back of the main house, amongst a very pretty tranquil garden and setting. As soon as we arrived Dale made us feel at ease and helped us in and showed us around. He was very helpful with our car too, as so was Deborah. I completely agree with the reviews that this is a hidden gem, away from the hustle and bustle of, be it Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. The owners and hosts Deborah and Dale are amazing people. They were helpful and approachable throughout our stay (and didn't mind us breaking one of their plates, that's of course not to say that it's ok to do this!). A car helps here as although all the main attractions are close by, traffic in LA is on par with London (ie not good!). Using public transport would lengthen your day to day journeys/travels greatly. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone considering staying here and next time I am in the area, I would consider staying again too. It's a beautiful place owned by lovely welcoming people.
