A sure thing!

4 of 5
This hidden gem is perfect for a woman travelling solo. I felt very safe in this area, and in the unit as the fence is automatically locked. You are very much hidden from passerbyers on the street, and did not feel exposed or vulnerable at all. I decided at the last minute not to rent a car, so I can't speak on the parking but I definitely didn't need one. I read some previous reviews about traffic noise and homeless people, but I didn't get anything unusual or extreme, and the street people are actually quite nice and non threatening. It was pretty quiet in the evenings. I took advantage of the cafes and little watering holes and restaurants along the street, there is a pharmacy nearby, within walking distance to Whole Foods which has a deli/buffet for hot meals, and I can't even say enough, how much I enjoyed the mexican food truck across the street. The bed is comfy is you like a firm bed, and the TV is on a pivot which gives you the option to watch from the bed or the living area ( though satellite signal is intermittent- bring a book if you are staying in) There are two older beach bikes available, just make sure to check them before you leave. If you have any issues, the bike rental places along the beach are super nice to offer to help. These bikes were the highlight of my trip as the number of expansive bike lanes and trails gave me the best of what this area offered. You can also rent them cheap along the beach. If you want to go on any Hollywood tours, they pick you up and drop you off at the Cadillac Hotel near by on the beach. The property manager was excellent, quick in responses and on point with the whole process, as well as making himself available. It was comforting as a tourist to know you have a lifeline! I've been all over the world, and Venice beach was one of my best vacations in part to this lovely property. I hope to return again.

Best little secret in Venice!

5 of 5
The elusive weekend getaway. Tough to decide where to go and how to spend it sometimes when you're planning it for a weekend away... but not really away. I am a Los Angeles resident and grew up in Santa Monica and Venice area. My GF has never really experienced the wonderful westside as I did growing up, so I thought of it kind to share, and also soak up in some nostalgia. The location of this property was perfect. At the beginning of Abbot Kinney where there are tons of boutique shops and restaurants, and also bordering the world famous Venice Boardwalk and beach. The placement of this unit is what made me decide to book this property for a weekend get away with the GF. I didn't expect much, because I know this city very well and most of where I have stayed of visited have been older built homes and apartments that usually have what we call "character" imperfections. To my surprise it was very well kept. Everything worked and reminded me of what life is like in a beach community. Not much is needed other than the essentials. Bed, bathroom, shower, fridge, and of course the morning coffee! We didn't spend an immense period of time here, because... well... so many things to do in the area. Abbot Kinney, Boardwalk, beach, Santa Monica Main St. all within walking distance. Bikes are provided, but we never had a chance to use them due to the abundant amount of entertainment resources within walking distance. Great little getaway bungalow for a great price!

Clean, well equiped and a location to die for!

5 of 5
We rented the apartment for 3 weeks and were not disappointed. It’s in a great location which is safe & quiet, only a block from the beach, bars and restaurants and within easy reach of Santa Monica (10 mins) & LAX (20 mins). The apartment is clean and very well equipped throughout with everything you could possibly need, including towels, iron / board, cooking utensils etc but in addition, has parking and washing / drying facilities on site which is extremely useful, especially for longer term rentals. Marcus was a great host and we are already planning to return for another long term rental in 2015.
