charming cottage-you wont want to go home

5 of 5
A friend of mine suggested I consider home away rentals for my first alone vacation with my son. For what I was looking for in Lajolla I kept going back to this cottage. My first visit to Lajolla, this charming cottage was clean, updated, comfortable, peaceful and a great location. We felt like we were home. I will return again renting the same cottage. Marilyn made everything so easy for me and answered all my questions kindly. The ocean is a block away. Piatti restaurant is just around the corner having dined there twice within a week- I highly recommend. The village downtown is where all the shopping is, less than 1.5 miles- perfect walking everyday. I promise you won't want to return home. Great location to everything.

Amazing location and great service.

5 of 5
We rented this lovely house for 1 month, we really enjoyed our stay here. Location is perfect! walking distance to the beach and La Jolla restaurants. The house is very clean and comfortable. The terrace has a very nice BBQ grill. All appliances are brand new as well as the linens and towels. It includes bicycles, beach chairs and boogie boards. The street is a very quiet one. The best vacation rental we have stayed at. Thank you Nicole for all your attentions, we loved the basket you left for us with wine and snacks, it made us feel very welcomed. We absolutely recommend this place.

Love at first sight

5 of 5
We fell in love with Steve's cottage on first sight, and the feeling lingers even now that we're back home. We stayed for a month. It was the perfect getaway, with all the amenities we could have asked for. The patio was beautiful and secluded, and had a grill where we cooked most of our dinners. The kitchen was efficient and came stocked with dishes, pans, silverware, utensils, a blender, and more. There was a nice washer/dryer out in back. But more than the amenities was the overall comfort and cozy mood of the place, which made us feel at home as soon as we walked in. We walked to the beach almost every day, tried various restaurants, took drives to Balboa Park, the Birch Aquarium, the Torrey Pines State Reserve, and more. Lots to see and do in the area, including an excellent shopping mall called University Towne Center which you can get to by bus if you don't feel like driving. Steve was the perfect host -- there when we needed him, not when we didn't. We left feeling that we must return soon, and in fact are moving to La Jolla permanently in a few months. Highly recommend this lovely spot. You won't want to leave!
