A Terrific Way To "Go Native" In La Jolla

5 of 5
Our family of four (mom, dad, 11-yr old girl, 15-yr old boy) just spent a terrific week staying at this apartment, which is situated right in the heart of La Jolla Village. This second floor apartment was spotless and very well appointed. We were honestly lacking nothing to make our stay comfortable. Within walking distance of restaurants, a good grocery store, the beach and other amenities, we really enjoyed going native for the week. The Farmers Market, held every Sunday, is ONE block away! A real bonus was the great patio that we enjoyed every morning and then every evening when we returned from our day of exploring. Although these points didn't detract from our family's enjoyment of the property, you may have different ideas of what constitutes a perfect vacation rental: 1) No pool 2) No off-street parking (we didn't have an issue finding on-street parking but La Jolla is densely populated and it may be an issue at certain times of the year). 3) No ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We slept with the windows open; it was a bit noisy with traffic first thing in the morning during the week. 4) The apartment is accessed by a flight of steps. 5) The place is a bit "lighting challenged" for reading at night. Finally, I can't say enough positive things about our hosts. They were very, very nice people who are clearly adept when it comes to managing the property appropriately for guests (they've been at it since 2006). Take some time to get to know them. They are dyed-in-the-wool Californians who are a wealth of knowledge!

Breathtaking views!

5 of 5
I had the perfect week at the most extraordinary house in La Jolla. The panoramic views of the ocean and the golf course were calming and majestic. The architecture is unique with a Spanish/Moroccan feel and has beautiful stonework. I enjoyed sitting by the fire place and enjoying the incredible sunsets! With having La Jolla Village near by I had easy access to the most incredible restaurants La Jolla has to offer. The house was charming and comfortable with all the right amenities. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a vacation rental, I will definitely be back here!

Very comfortable with first class finishes, clean and well looked after. Perfect location near the beach and downtown. Would live there full time if it was possible. Dean
