Paradise Found is paradise in every way

5 of 5
At first we were skeptical. We are pretty jaded when it comes to travel, but we knew something was different when we first went out on the deck, and a faun was taking a nap in the corner of the garden. It may sound exaggerated, but this truly is “Paradise Found.” You do not have to go anywhere to soak in the serenity. Just staying in the house is justification for the trip, and Irish Beach is really a wonderful location. Everything feels comfortable and we appreciated all the special touches throughout the house. It is like being in your own home, perfect for the two of us and our dog. We went to the beach and walked forever, had dinner at the pier in Point Arena–be sure to try the clam chowder. And, hanging around for a few hours in Mendocino was like visiting the set of “Murder She Wrote.” Yes, the drive in is sometimes slow, but there is beauty everywhere you look—from the redwoods to the miles of unspoiled beaches. I am glad the climate is cool it gives you the feeling that the Pacific Ocean is all yours. We came in July to escape the 105-degree heat in Tucson, but we cannot wait to go back sometime in the winter to enjoy the storms. Michaela and Tom Whittingslow, Tucson

Needs a new barbecue and kithchen utensils

4 of 5
Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice location nothing fancy but adequate Manager responded on 5/7/2014: Thank you Mr. Maggiore for taking the time to review the Bennett home. We will get right on replacing the kitchen utensils and bbq. We look forward to your next visit. Happy Days, Kim

Light-Filled Comfort

5 of 5
This is a wonderful vacation home (better than described!) New, with an open floorplan that includes lots of windows allowing light to fill the common areas, even in the foggy and cloudy weather. All the comforts of home including fluffy duvets, tub and showers, coffee grinder, coffee maker, and miles of counterspace. Not right on the beach, but you would not want to be; it is up on a high point and has an unparalleled view of the Point Arena lighthouse out on the tip of the crescent of Irish Beach stretching out before you. Beach access is within walking distance, down an adjacent road. The Mendocino Coast is spectacularly rocky with small towns dotting the winding road, both north and south. Perfect home base to just relax and unwind or to go day tripping inland to the Anderson Valley, and take in some redwoods as well. The area is particularly friendly to bicyclists, although bike lanes seem virtually non-existent. Kayaking available on the various rivers in the area. Recommend the Albion River Inn for dinner, ($$) about 2 miles south of the charming town of Mendocino. It is evident that the owners take great pride in their lovely home. We appreciate and respect the opportunity to enjoy it. I especially enjoyed the baby grand piano!
