very clean, perfectly located

5 of 5
This was a great location and was spotless. Every amenity was available. We loved the location in a neighborhood but literally in the middle of LA. Very close to the trendy Melrose Avenue, which my kids loved. Sharlotte, the owner, was awesome. Anything we needed, she was a phone call away. You should know that the second floor loft is sloped. My older teenager is 5'10" and it was hard to maneuver for her. My younger preteen loved the space and the coziness of the sloped loft sleeping area. This would not be a good place if you had big teenage boys or if you were two couples travelling. Further, it is in the middle of a neighborhood, so if you party late into the night or want to be rowdy on vacation, I wouldn't recommend this location. For us, who love the peace and quiet after a day of touring LA, it was perfect.

This Property is EXACTLY as described and more!

5 of 5
Arriving in LA from Philadelphia with two teenagers and a ten year old, we had no idea what to expect. Debra and her home helped exceed our expectations for vacation. The property is located in a safe neighborhood in close proximity to everything LA has to offer. We did Disney, Universal, Warner Brothers, Venice Beach/Santa Monica, Celebrity Tours, the Observatory (great recommendation of Debra's- we went twice!), Farmers Market, Tar Pits, and she pointed me in the direction of an awesome running trail at the Hollywood Resevoir. The home was located at a reasonable distance from all of it! While we didn't spend a lot of time in the home, it was stocked with everything we needed and was quaint and cozy, just like home. I am very particular in regards to cleanliness and when we arrived, the house was very well maintained. The linens were neatly folded and the bed sheets were crisp and clean. There were no amenities that we needed that were not included. We arrived late on Wednesday night and had no issues getting into the house. Debra provides a booklet to help get acquainted with the area and the house. She left out no details! If we ever had a question, we simply looked through her binder and easily found an answer. She even helped/suggested activities for us as we planned our trip. If there was ever an issue (there wasn't) she lived close by and was happy to help us out if needed. My husband and I could not have been more satisfied with our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to LA and looking for a home away from home!

Live Like A Movie Star in the Hollywood Hills!

5 of 5
This property is heaven-on-earth and I feel so unbelievably blessed to have stayed here for a week! It was the perfect fit for what me and my two children (ages 13 and 15) were looking for in a Hollywood vacation spot. With only a mile or so to go before arriving at our rental home, I was momentarily worried that it would be too close to the hustle and bustle of Hollywood Boulevard. Yet, as soon as I hooked a quick left onto Outpost Drive and started weaving my way through the mansions lining this snaking mountain passageway, I knew that I had nothing to fear. “I feel like a movie star,” said my typically unimpressed daughter as we passed gated estates and pulled out onto Mullholland Drive. The fully-equipped kitchen (stove, refrigerator, oven, toaster, dishwasher, etc.) boasts all the appliances and utensils necessary to prepare a Thanksgiving feast! My daughter loved her bedroom, which, in addition to having a DVD player and big-screen TV, afforded her the opportunity to walk out her own personal sliding glass door and enjoy views of beautiful Runyon Canyon. The master bedroom is equally impressive with its two full-sized closets, sliding glass doors, and spacious king sized bed. I awoke every day and immediately walked out onto the private patio to take in the morning sunshine. Bathrooms are often a make-it-or-break-it situation for me when it comes to renting vacation homes. This property, thankfully, offers a recently remodeled bathroom (full spacious shower, plenty of counter space, wrap-around mirrors) that is actually bigger and nicer than either of my two bathrooms at home! Clearly, I could go on and on about the countless perks that this rental property has to offer (e.g., linens, washer and dryer, inside and outside dining tables, wifi) but what I appreciated most about this home was its location. It’s literally a convenient mile or two from touristy downtown Hollywood. Yet, despite its proximity, this home is protected from that commotion by the beautiful Hollywood Hills. Drive down LaBrea Avenue and you are quickly in Beverly Hills. Continue a little further and you will arrive at Santa Monica Pier/Beach, a pleasant jaunt we made several times during our week in the Los Angeles area. Frances is such a nice woman and she gave us the privacy we wanted but was only a quick phone call or email away if we needed anything. Needless to say, we would rent this home again in a heartbeat and we truly hope to do so again soon.
