Perfect Location for a Holiday Gathering- or any time of year!

5 of 5
My wife and I live in Boston and also have property listed on VRBO. Our two sons live in Los Angeles. We looked for a place to enjoy some family time around the 2014 holidays... and found the ideal location at Bodhi's Lake House. The High Desert is a completely different world from the hustle and bustle of LA County- yet less than two hours away. Everything we needed was at this beautiful large house built directly on the water. A fully stocked kitchen, a spacious living room, several fireplaces, spotless bedrooms and baths, and a fun game room for indoor sports. As an architect, I appreciated the open design and new construction. The house was even decorated for Christmas with several trees along with interior/exterior lighting. Make no mistake- it's better than the photos indicate! Outdoors we enjoyed relaxing by the pool and in the hot tub. Sun bathing, kayaking, bicycling, hiking, golf, and tennis- all outside the door or within a few minutes of the house. Our original plans were to take a few day trips up to Death Valley or Las Vegas, but we decided to stay put and enjoy this desert oasis in Helendale, CA. Beautiful full moon and spectacular sunrises over the two man made lakes. We had loaded up on groceries before arriving, but also bought a few items at the local market and enjoyed several nights out at nearby restaurants. Very friendly neighbors all around this well maintain desert community. No need to travel far, so we didn't. Our next trip to Southern California may involve a stay in Los Angeles or San Diego, but we hope to get way from it all again some day at Bodhi's Lake House.

Absolutely wonderful!

5 of 5
We had such a wonderful, care-free experience renting this delightful home for a weekend. We were in Helendale for my son's wedding and needed a place where I could set-up "command central" for all the things we needed to do (including baking the wedding cake)! This home was perfect! Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds were so very comfortable, and the kitchen is fully equipped. There were so many amenities available to us...golf cart, golf clubs, fishing boat, kayaks, paddle boat, flat screen TV, computer, game console, washer/dryer...and everything was in good working order. Also, the home actually seems bigger in person than the pictures indicate. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. But, perhaps the best part was how attentive, organized and professional the homeowner is. Cindy has written instructions for everything in the house as well as clear directions for how to wrap things up at the end of your stay. Honestly this feels much more like staying at a fine resort than a private rental-except Cindy's personal touches make it truly feel like a home away from home. It was a wonderful experience and we would love to visit again!

Has Everything You Need

4 of 5
We were here to the 21st, then again from July 10-August 4th. I can say during our stay we enjoyed the home. We had a problem with the boat/golf cart in the beginning , some our fault, and Cindy and her husband came and resolved the issues quickly. The contract and financial payments and deposits were handled fairly. Cindy is a pleasure to deal with, and they offer a nice welcome gift of a bottle of wine, crackers, and card. There are 2 nice, large LCD TV's, DVD player, Wi-Fi and Satellite TV and very good air conditioning ! Also a swamp cooler. The house is well stocked for your needs, from bathroom, to bedroom to kitchen, and organized. Also a small wine bar. We enjoyed the golf car and boat, tennis racquets, fishing poles. There are also 2 bicycles. Nice washer and dryer. We caught some fish and the lake is pleasant; neighbors quiet. Nice local grocery store and some restaurants, golf, tennis, gym, public pool and beaches and parks, including a dog park, RV hook- up area. Loved the fresh peaches off the tree and sitting on the back porch, grilling, and gazing at stars at night. Only issues is the garage is a bit cramped but did fit our large SUV in there, and the outside of the house could be spruced up a bit .0, as cobwebs. We hand watered the grass in the backyard. As it was dry. But overall, nice home. Loved the lake!
