An Excellent Choice

5 of 5
When I rented the place, I was worried it was too "fancy." I got that opinion from the pictures. In fact, the Cabernet Cottage is delightfully rustic. True, my wife appreciated the amenities, like a dish washer, that were not available in our usual camping situation, but a lot of the cabin is crude wood and... a cabin. Our Boxweiller truly appreciated it was dog friendly. We left her a few times with the dog sitter service recommended by the rental service, Elizabeth did a superior job with the dog, leaving me to wonder if the dog will run away from home, back to the Russian River, to find her. We were there during "dock season." As such, my family fully availed themselves of the dock and kayaks. We also brought a raft capable of handling an 80 pound dog. The Stumptown Brewery was a short row from the cabin and accommodated dogs. One thing that is not obvious from the pictures. There is a private stairway to the second bedroom. It has a small deck that goes into the laundry room... and bathroom. My kids thoroughly enjoyed that! Overall, if I had to pick one thing selling this property, it would be the deep bathtub. Or maybe the spectacular view. Or the coziness. Would I rent again? You bet!

Best birthday ever!

House is perfect! Easy to get to and clean. New appliances, washer and dryer, grill. Loved cooking breakfast and diner and enjoying the deck patio over looking a creek. My favorite is the hot tub, hammock, and fire pit under the red wood trees. Can't wait to come back!

Superb Property - Beautifully maintained, spectacularly designed, gorgeously appointed

5 of 5
Every year, my family travels around the world and stays in a private luxury rental – usually one we have found on VRBO. Last year was Chania, Greece, the year before, Captain Cook Hawaii, before that, the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Our standards are very high- and we are hard to please. As nice as all the homes are that we’ve stayed in (and there have been some spectacular pieces of property), Palazzo Marzino exceeds all of them by miles. It is the first property we have ever stayed in to which we will return – and we can’t wait for that day. The pool was perfection – the temp was exactly right – you just never want to get out of the water. The pool furnishings were above and beyond – truly exceptional, right down to the floats: no cheap inflatable rafts, these were the thick blue foam-rubber ones, with no cracks or wear. The kitchen was properly equipped with LOTS of dishes, pans, and gadgetry (although a food processor would have been nice, but that’s a very minor quibble). The views from the main floor were positively stunning . It’s hard to measure these kinds of things, but we’ve been in some pretty exotic locales – and this view was by far the most enchanting. We never tired of looking out on that expanse of redwood covered mountains, with the Russian River placidly flowing below. There are ALWAYS problems with these houses. It’s their nature – they have lots of complicated systems everywhere you look. The big question is how the management company and their vendors resolve the problems as they crop up. We had one problem – and it was handled expediently, efficiently, and expertly. The management company even gave us a $75 credit for the inconvenience (which was totally unnecessary). We’d like to suggest adding a way to attach an external music source (smart phone, iPod, etc) to the technology suite. Speaking of – the internet speed was a reliable 40Mbps – way more than you need for streaming HD movies (most TVs were HDMI equipped). As I said – we can’t wait to return. We’re in total withdrawal and already figuring out when the next trip will be.
