Maybe better in the winter

4 of 5
The apartment is pretty much what you'd expect for the price - it's a bit dated, with a few upgrades, but it has everything you need. The grill is nice and the kitchen is fairly well stocked with spices and cooking utensils. The location is GREAT - you are close to almost all of the park attractions, but removed from most of the crowd at the Valley. The one bad thing is the lack of air conditioning. We were so hot at night, we barely slept. There is a small tabletop fan in the bedroom, but even with all the windows open, it was just too hot (there are only small windows on one side of the apartment, so it doesn't really allow a cross breeze) Being so close to Glacier Pass, i am sure it's great in the winter (there is heat). A few items of note - there are A LOT of stairs to get into the apartment. The view is mostly of neighbors - not super close, but it's not really a mountain view. Wifi was a bit spotty, even when it's turned on, but it's to be expected in the remote location. No cell service either. Overall, it's a decent place, but if you like a cool room at night, this may not be the best place for you.

We would love to return

5 of 5
We were in town for a family reunion and used this accommodation as a base, which worked really well. The owners were fantasticlly helpful, really laid back and responsive, espeically when we needed to rearrange the bedding for our three boys. We never locked the place as the owners never worried about it. This place is set on well maintained property, which is 3 minutes drive to down town Nevada City. We felt very lucky to be able to enjoy our breakfast on the deck, have an excellent shower and sleep in peace. One of the nicest things was that the owners sons let our boys use their skateboards which they loved playing every day. We were easily able to come and go and it truly was a home away from home. We would happily return.
