We loved this cabin! Three generations, aged 19-74, booked 4 nights and wished we had time to stay longer. We fished in the river but also brought our fishing boat to take to the local lakes. The deck at the back of the house was great for reading and relaxing while the "kids" fished in the river below. The master bedroom upstairs had a balcony and chairs too. Mom and I both loved the decor and I'm about to email Lori to see who did the decorating. The cabin had everything we needed from dishware, utensils, and cookware to towels, extra pillows, and sleeping bags if we had needed them. There was wood if we had needed it. At night we did jigsaw puzzles and watched DVDs that we had brought but each room also had DirecTV. The downside for us is we are internet junkies and had to go maybe 6 miles down the road to get cell coverage. Some will not care about lack of internet/cell coverage and others will find it a plus. Either way, it wasn't far to go and closer than what we are used to where we normally camp in the middle of the Warner Mountains near Alturas. Sorenson's is across the street although we didn't go there. We did buy some groceries in Markleeville about 8 miles away but did our major shopping in the South Shore 20-35 minutes depending on whether you are going to the Y or closer to the casinos. If you go to the Red Hut Cafe, I love the Biscuits & Gravy, the pancakes, and the hash browns. We had lunch at Fox & Hound and that was really good too. Looking forward to staying here again.
