Moonlight magic

5 of 5
What a great place to unplug - Lofty Coffee in the morning, carry the surf board a block down to Moonlight Beach, walk to Swami's, chill and grill on the deck, and just disconnect. This is a perfect central point to soak in Encinitas and beach living, in a cozy and positive vibe bungalow. Tim and Susan are super cool, if you're lucky enough to meet them, and the neighborhood is totally walkable and friendly. The lullaby of breaking ocean waves on an energetic night is an unbeatable stress melter, if you're not down the hill socializing at the bonfire pits on Moonlight. So California!

Beautiful cottage - highly recommended

5 of 5
We have spent the past few weeks in this cottage and it is just as great as the pictures suggest. Clean, well maintained and simple enough for us to relax with the children. Cindy, who manages the property, has been extremely helpful and supportive throughout with any questions we had. The view is incredible and completely unrestricted and it is very close to the beach. We have our two children with us and went to the beach twice a day - the stairs are just a block away. It is also very conveniently located for local shops - Wholefoods and other stores easy walking distance. We are hoping to return. Highly recommended. Thanks Cindy..

Fantastic getaway!

5 of 5
What an incredible week. The cottage is beautifully maintained, and the kitchen in particular was more than I expected, a state-of-the-art gas range and cabinets fully equipped with pots and pans, and even a wok--I cooked every meal. Loved the comfortable bed and the beautiful stained-glass window which floods the kitchen with light every afternoon. I didn't have a car and I never missed it: the train station is an easy walk away and a comfortable ride to all that San Diego has to offer. Grocery stores, great restaurants and bars, bike/surf rentals, and most importantly, the beach, are all within half a mile--the overlook to watch the sunset while the surfers do their thing is just 5-minute walk. Beach was always quiet and peaceful, as was the neighborhood itself. Roberta herself is a very gracious hostess, and IA, her sweet dog, is a great ambassador, too--whenever I was on the deck he would always come up to the fence to see how I was doing. This was the perfect retreat. I only hope I can come back next year.
