We spend 3 nights at the beautiful place of Robert and Alev. They are such nice people and gave us a warm welcome. The place is the lower floor of their house, which is an old but beautiful and characteristic place. The decoration is great, the place is large and offers everything you need: nice kitchen, good bed, nice bathroom, lots of books, a sitting area and a garden. There even is a washer and dryer available. We really had a though timing chosing the neighborhood to stay in since it was our first time in SF. but we would really recommend this place and this area! It is close to Chestnut and Lombard street where you have all the nice restaurants and bars (many locals, not so touristy), you are a few feet away from Presidio park where you can have nice walks, bike rides and we even did our workouts there in the morning. Then, you are also quite close to the beach and the golden gate bridge. A bit further from downtown (which is not that pretty actually, but a large shopping area is there) and from the warf, which is VERY touristy. We rented bikes for 2 days and this enabled us to see the entire city without using our car or public transportation. You can easily ride over the golden gate, ride to the warf and to downtown. Robert and Alev were very sweet to show us around, help with parking the car, give us advice about where to go and when I had a little injury during our stay Alev helped me to go to a medical center. They are really sweet. The place is much BIGGER and much NICER than in the pictures we think :-) My husband is a photographer and he made some nice pictures which we will share so we hope this helps. The only small thing is that you can hear people walking in the upper floors (just because its an old house), but since Robert and Alev are really quiet people this did not bother us at all. We really recommend this place, loved it!
