Serene getaway

5 of 5
We stayed at the Butterfly Cottage over the 4th of July weekend. The cottage was just as described. Neat clean simple. It was truly serene. The sound of the fountain burbling away and the heady smell of the fragrant flowers made you feel like you were transported to a far corner of Shangri-la. We were in town for a horse show and next year would consider booking the other two cottages in in compound with other riders from our barn. Definitely looking forward to returning

A unique and very special hideaway.

My daughter and I were looking for a special place to stay in Paso Robles. We wanted something that was not your typical hotel or Bed and Breakfast. Since we were traveling to Paso Robles from Virginia, we wanted to feel immersed in the relaxing serenity the area offers. This is what we found at this property. We stayed in the converted barn which easily accommodates a couple with a kid or two. The decor is delightful and the Queen sized bed is spacious. The pull out sofa bed is comfortable and the upper bunk provides a great place for a child to sleep. We enjoyed our coffee in the morning and being greeted by two miniature horses and a donkey. We enjoyed the privacy and quiet. In the back of the barn there is a patio with a view of a huge lone oak tree which at night, is back lit by more stars than I think I've every seen. Marty and Karen are wonderful hosts by making sure you have everything you might need, making themselves available if needed, yet providing a quiet and private stay. We did not cook while we stayed here, but we easily could have with the kitchen and dining table. Our hosts also provided plenty of brochures and local winery information. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an intimate and unique experience.

Wow! What a great stay!

We just returned from out fantastic visit in Paso. We stayed at Karen and Marty's place outside of town. I almost hate to write a great review as I'd like this place to be "our secret"! :). We really enjoyed the setting and the hospitality. It is definitely a great alternative to a hotel! We will definitely be back.
