Cute little cottage. Great location.

4 of 5
My family is originally from Santa Cruz and over the years I've stayed in many rentals. This cottage is on my list for a return visit. One of the good things include the location. There is a sturdy bench at the end of the street (17th) where one could sit for a long time! (Bring a hat). The other street (20th?) has stairs to another great beach. So many loving dog parents to visit with. A short drive in either direction and you are anywhere you need to be! Walk up to the corner and the Aloha grill has fast food, beer and wine. The cottage feels roomy enough with windows on all sides. Furniture is comfy though the fold -out bed is not very comfortable . The twin bed and the queen bed are just right. The bathroom is regular sized, not too small. The weekend we were there was a record breaking 99 degrees so we spent the first afternoon driving around looking to buy a couple fans. I look forward to revisiting when the wood stove could be used. I'm sure it will be very nice. All in all this is a wonderful place to spend some time very close to the beach in a cozy little historical cottage. Thank you Jeanne for easy communication. The rental transaction was a breeze! Daughter Karen and Mother Barbara ( here for her 65th high school reunion!)

Cozy Classy California Bungalow

5 of 5
The 4 of us stayed 9 days. Have to comment on the super comfortable beds, so soft you want to sleep in every morning. Kitchen has quality finishes with very nice dishes, utensils and the best of pots and pans. We loved cooking and eating in our little bungalow. Super nice quiet neighborhood with lots of wild life to see in the meadow and grounds. Loved opening the windows to listen to all the different sounds of the life around us. Surprised at the warm sun on our cheeks while the cool breezes whipped around us in the outdoor patio rocking chairs. Had fun letting our 2 dogs visit the neighbors goats to sniff them couple times each day. The Live Oak Tree, just amazing! While cooking and sipping a glass of wine you can discover this tree from both the kitchen sink and the living room and never get tired of its beauty. My husband did not want to leave, he loved everything about this amazing place. Yes it is about 10 minutes from Santa Cruz but worth it. Felton is a neat little town about 5 minutes drive with a lot to offer without the crowds. We made some day trips to Big Sir and Carmel which were also amazing but could not wait to get back to our little paradise at Ben Lomond Bungalow. Looking forward to a return visit here soon.

awesome beach house!

5 of 5
Our family rented this home for a week. We were looking for a nice property, right on the beach, for a relaxing vacation and this home was perfect. The owner is very nice, quick to respond, and easy going. For our active family, we were pleasantly surprised with all the beach equipment the owners provided for us: beach chairs, ocean kayaks, bogie boards, surf boards, wet suits, kites, paddle board, sand toys, etc. The home is right on Pierpont beach near Marina Park, with beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets. The kitchen was really nice; granite counter tops and ample dishes and cookware. There are two refrigerator/freezers, one upstairs and one downstairs and a washer and dryer. All bedding and towels were provided. The home has a nice courtyard with a hot tub, and an upstairs patio for dining with an oceanfront view. There are two heated outdoor showers to rinse off the sand and surf. There are two large screen TV's with DVD players and even a Wii entertainment system. The proximity of this home to Ventura Marina and Marina Park is nice too. We visited the Marina a few times to paddle board in the calm waters of the Marina, visit the Channel Islands National Park visitor center, rent jet skis (extremely fun), and dine at the Sea Food restaurants. However, we mostly just stayed at the beach house which has everything you need! The home lists for 6 occupants (three bedrooms) but has plenty of room and bedding for at least 10. It can be a bit nerve-racking renting on VRBO since you never know what you'll get until you arrive but this home exceeded our expectations, just what we were looking for! Honestly, not much negative to say. We have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone looking for a nice beach getaway.
