When do we come back?!

5 of 5
We may have been a little biased because we were leaving 2 inches of snow in St.Louis, but that's the point of winter vacation right? The place was perfect for me and my husband. Rick and Deb made us feel right at home and let us know we could ask them for anything. We actually landed in LAX a day early because I had never been to California before. (I wanted some In and Out Burger). So when it was our time to come up to Summerland, we called Rick and Deb and they gave us a perfect route to drive along the Ocean to get to their place. Not only do we recommend doing that, but they gave us a great spot to get a healthy portion of seafood along the way! (Neptunes Nest -try the chowder) Summerland is a amazing little town and it's all within a nice walking distance from the Double Dolphin. From little shops to some amazing breakfast to a winery, there really wasn't a reason to leave. From there we went to Slovang, a amazing Dutch town with too many pastries and beers for my husband. A day later we went to Santa Barbara with too much wine tasting for me (a great problem). We've already talked about going back because we needed more time. Thanks again Rick and Deb and go Patriots! *Few other recommendations for when you go: The Nugget for a local bar scene and great draft beers, the smoothies at Luna's cafe in the morning, the Santa Claus and Carpinteria beach (really needed more time there), oh and a very 'local' woman can cook up a amazing steak :)

We Will Be Back

5 of 5
My husband and I have been to Carmel 14 times and this time we decided to bring our 3 adult kids and their spouses and our 2 grandchildren. I looked at almost every property in Carmel and Monterey and finally decided on the Acorn Ranch. And I made the right decision. We oohhhed and aahhhed over every detail from the minute we drove up. The ocean views were far more spectacular than I had imagined and the decks provided many spaces for people to enjoy their own privacy. It was very obvious that a gifted architect designed and owned the home. Every detail was exceptional - the furniture, the antiques, the artwork, the ceilings, the walls, the skylights, and the fireplaces. Our family hit all of the incredible sights of Carmel and Big Sur during our stay - Pebble Beach for early morning walks and evening dinner at The Bench overlooking the 18th green. Rocky Point and Nepenthe at Big Sur were highlights and we walked across the street to Point Lobos for some of the most beautiful sights in the world. Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch was a favorite along with Doris Day's Cypress Inn sitting outside by the fire. I would also recommend Casanova for lunch and walking along Scenic Drive. But with all of the incredible moments we experienced, we carved out time at the Acorn Ranch to sit in the sun overlooking the ocean or eating around the fabulous dining room table. Everyone loved the ranch - and the grandbabies especially loved the cows, horses, turkeys, and the deer. Mark took great care of us. Answered the phone with our every need and managed to get our toilet fixed within a few hours even though he was out of town for a day. I almost hate to let others know how great it is because I want to keep it our secret. So save us a spot - WE WILL BE BACK.

Excellent, cozy beach home with all you could need for a perfect vacation rental!

5 of 5
This home is an A+!!! The property was very well-maintained and clean. The home is very cozy with ocean views! The location is excellent, just 5 minutes to the beach, and near great restaurants and shopping in the Santa Barbara area. We would definitely recommend this vacation rental to family, friends, and anyone looking for a place to stay in Santa Barbara for any occasion. It accommodated our family of 6 sufficiently with our 2 dogs, as well. A great vacation rental for our family with children! High recommend this property!
