Amazing house, location, and experience

5 of 5
We came for a guys trip this past weekend to go to the beach and do some other local outdoor activities (hiking, etc.). When we showed up, the house was in perfect condition with all the amenities we needed. We BBQ'd on Saturday night and all we needed to bring was some charcoal which we got at the local market down the street, The location made it a quick drive / cab ride to downtown and the beach. Kevin always answered all my questions quickly to help me plan what to bring, where to go, etc. I would highly recommend this rental!

Fabulous for extended family getaway!

5 of 5
This house was wonderful for my husband's family (4 other couples) to join us in visiting our 2 children at UCSB for a long weekend/sorority event. It's a spacious home with plenty of privacy (only 2 rooms shared a bath - the large bedroom and the media room). There was lots of room to gather and eat with kids and friends. Lovely relaxing décor (though some treasures would worry me if we had small children). Extremely easy access to the freeway, short walk to Butterfly Beach/Biltmore and Lower Montecito Village, very quick trip to East Beach where the event took place. Close to bike path, easy biking to downtown SB. The freeway is very close but no noise disturbance. Very close to the tracks but only occasionally bothered by long train whistles, not usually during the night. Should not be a deterrent. There is a high fence all around the property and quite a few different outdoor areas to enjoy. I assumed the studio was detached from the main house but it is attached to the large family bedroom (the one with daybed), with two doors and the laundry vestibule in between the two rooms. So studio guests must pass through the large bedroom to get to common areas unless they go through the yard to the kitchen or front door (just something to keep in mind when doling out room assignments). The sofa bed in the media room was comfortable for my brother-in-law and had total privacy when the covered French doors were closed. The Jacuzzi was a nice added bonus. The owners provide lots of local information. As regular visitors to SB, we agree with many of their recommendations. We would definitely return to this house if we come again with a big group (maybe for graduation).

Beautiful house-great location

5 of 5
This is a beautiful house in an excellent location. The bedrooms offer plenty of space. The living room is comfortable with a large screen TV. The bathrooms are well appointed. The gem of this home, however, is the kitchen and adjoining dining room. The large gas stove, outstanding refrigerator and spacious countertops invite any guest to prepare a delicious home cooked meal. We enjoyed buying daily fresh caught seafood then coming home to prepare it. The porch and garden gathering area in front of the home just begs for you to crack open a bottle of wine, turn on some music and enjoy the sunset. The house is ½ block from a small intimate beach. However, a five minute drive reveals this wonderfully long, expansive beach inviting you to take a leisurely or more demanding walk along the ocean. The only down side we found was that several of the lights, including many if the mini recessed lights, were burned out. However, we are confident the owners will remedy this shortcoming as they appear to be very conscientious. Shirley, the owners’ mother, who lives in the property directly behind this home, is a lovely woman full of terrific information. If you stay here, you must make a point of meeting Shirley. She is friendly, vivacious and can direct you to wonderful dining and shopping venues that only the locals know. Overall, we had a terrific time and highly recommend this lovely property.
