60th birthday vacation

5 of 5
Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was wonderful. We were the first renters in the house, so a few items needed attention, but these were solved in the first couple days, and Kim couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. I can't think of a thing that fell below our expectations except one small item (might want to address this). The space available for personal clothing in the master bedroom is probably ok for people staying a week, but more than that and it's difficult. We had to purchase a portable luggage rack and put it in the back room to accommodate the space we needed. Again, that's a small detail that can be fixed. I can't compliment Sanctuary VR, every aspect of booking the trip, correspondence, assistance, etc.. was prompt, friendly, and professional. And, again, Kim did a fabulous job of making feel at home at all times. Thanks so much!

Quiet, comfortable retreat

5 of 5
We (elderly father, two adult daughters) came to Carpinteria for an extended-family gathering over the 4th of July weekend. This was a wonderful retreat for us to escape to. It was comfortable, quiet, well-furnished, and really convenient to the central shopping area. The only minor difficulty we had was backing out of the driveway, since it's hard to see oncoming traffic (it would be perfect for people coming by train). I would recommend it for anyone wanting a really nice place to stay with an easy walk to shops and restaurants.

Built for fun! This cabin offers a bit of it all!

4 of 5
Spending President's Day weekend frolicking in the snow in the Pine Mountain Club area has become a family tradition with us since we moved to Valencia almost twenty years ago. I can easily say that this is one of the nicest cabins we have had the pleasure to stay in! This cabin is a perfect destination for a group stay, or even more of a private couple's getaway. While the layout encourages constant, wonderful social interaction, the loft is a perfect place to get lost with a book, or sharpen your poetry writing skills. It is also perfectly situated in the corner of a cul-de-sac, right by a trail, with plenty of tall trees and space to breathe all around. (It is a shame that we are in the middle of a California drought, I can't wait to come back when there is snow!) We bravely brought my Sweet 16 year old daughter and eight of her teenage girlfriends here to celebrate her birthday. The entire lower level comfortably accommodated the group's night owl ventures, loud music and games, and eventual sleep. The main level (second floor) is the heart of the cabin, offering a well-equipped kitchen and raised fireplace. This level also boasts a wonderfully imagined dinning room/living room area that welcomes spectacular views of the surrounding trees, via the amazing vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows. You can even choose to enjoy meals al fresco on a wonderful wrap around patio... Then there's the loft... When I wasn't catering to the demands of our talented and loud gaggle of girls, you could find me curled up with a nice cup of tea in the loft, or master bedroom area. Because of the open nature of the cabin, the loft is not completely walled in which is lovely. The only issue being that with a larger group below, you may not get a lot of privacy up here. (I imagine that it would be incredibly romantic, minus the nine teenage girls...) The beautiful floor to ceiling windows really do give you the feeling that you are sitting in a tree house well above the rest. I simply could spend days in this loft, and if it were snowing... <sigh> We were all so happy nesting here that we cancelled our dinner reservation in town, in order to spend more time at the cabin! That is how magical this place truly is... There is no hassle checking in/out and the owners are a delight to deal with. I would highly recommend this cabin for weekend celebrations, or quiet retreats with smaller groups. You just can't go wrong staying here!
